Torque Ripple Minimization for Induction Motor Drives with Direct Torque Control
Electric Power Components and Systems, 2004Direct torque control (DTC) schemes can produce quick and robust responses, but they usually behave like hysteresis controllers. Consequently there are similar problems like non constant switching frequencies and high torque ripple especially when operation conditions result in low switching frequencies.

A new direct torque control strategy
IEE Colloquium on `Advances in Control Systems for Electric Drives', 1995The paper investigates the performance of three-phase cage rotor induction motor control systems based on direct torque control. Direct torque control is examined and it is found that this scheme is less complex and gives better control characteristics than the vector control methods.

Direct torque control of induction motors
IEE Colloquium on Vector Control and Direct Torque Control of Induction Motors, 1995A direct torque control system for a variable speed induction motor drive consists of two hysteresis comparators, a selection table, a flux and torque estimator, and a PID speed controller. With this control structure, the drive performance can be significantly improved when compared to field oriented control.

Direct torque control of AC machines
2019The DTC technology has been steadily developed for induction motors initially and now in a mature stage where its adaptation in commercial products has been accepted by industry. The development focus is now toward adaptation of DTC into complex applications requiring special motor types and drive topologies.

Sensorless Vector and Direct Torque Control
1998Abstract This is the first comprehensive book on sensor less high performance a.c. drives. It is essential reading for anyone interested in acquiring a solid background on sensor less torque-controlled drives. It presents a detailed and unified treatment of sensor less vector-controlled and direct-torque controlled drive systems.
