Long‐term hippocampal alterations and cognitive impairment in a murine model of surgical sepsis

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Using a mouse model of surgical sepsis, we tested long‐term memory and analyzed the transcriptome of single cells isolated from the hippocampus. Survivor mice showed worse memory, loss of certain brain cell subpopulations, and abnormal immune cell activity—suggesting that post‐sepsis brain alterations may be linked to cognitive deficits.

The Investigation of Some Essential Concepts of Extended Fuzzy-Valued Convex Functions and Their Applications

open access: yesAdvances in Fuzzy Systems
In this paper, we are thus motivated to define and introduce the extended fuzzy-valued convex functions that can take the singleton fuzzy values −∞˜ and +∞˜ at some points.

The product and existence theorems for analytic functions in a polydisc of bounded $L$-index in direction

open access: yesResearches in Mathematics
For functions analytic in the unit polydisc with bounded $L$-index in a direction there are presented three various results. The product theorem specifies that the product of analytic functions of bounded $L$-index in direction belongs to the same class.

Medical Image Enhancement Method Based on the Fractional Order Derivative and the Directional Derivative

open access: yes, 2017
In recent years, the fractional order derivative has been introduced for image enhancement. It was proved that the medical image enhancement method based on the fractional order derivative has better effect than the method based on the integral order ...

Molecular dynamics simulations of positively selected codons in FcγRI reveal novel biochemical binding properties

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Evolutionary analysis across 32 placental mammals identified positive selection at residues H148 and W149 in the immune receptor FcγR1. Ancestral reconstruction combined with molecular dynamics simulations reveals how these mutations may influence receptor structure and dynamics, providing insight into the evolution of antibody recognition and immune ...

FACE RECOGNITION BASED ON LOCAL DERIVATIVE TETRA PATTERN

open access: yesICTACT Journal on Image and Video Processing, 2017
This paper proposes a new face recognition algorithm called local derivative tetra pattern (LDTrP). The new technique LDTrP is used to alleviate the face recognition rate under real-time challenges. Local derivative pattern (LDP) is a directional feature

Some relationships among gw-subdifferential, directional derivative and radial epiderivative for nonconvex vector functions

open access: yes, 2015
WOS: 000349314300005In this work, we give some characterizations of gw-subdifferentiability of a vector-valued function by using its directional derivative and radial epiderivative.

Fractional Powers of the Directional Derivative and a Maxwell–Gegenbauer Multipole Identity

open access: yesFractal and Fractional
We study fractional and complex powers of a fixed directional derivative in Rd, defined via a Marchaud-type singular integral representation. Under explicit convergence assumptions, this yields a pointwise nonlocal realization along rays.

Exponential Stabilizability of Switched Systems with Polytopic Uncertainties

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, 2012
The exponential stabilizability of switched nonlinear systems with polytopic uncertainties is explored by employing the methods of nonsmooth analysis and the minimum quadratic Lyapunov function.

From energy provision to protein synthesis: Tunnelling nanotubes as mediators of intercellular metabolic cooperation in cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The cytoskeleton‐mediated transport of mitochondria via tunnelling nanotubes restores respiration, increases ATP production, rescues cells from apoptosis, activates the AKT/mTOR signalling pathway, promotes cell migration and invasiveness, contributes to cancer progression and treatment resistance.
