About one especial feature of numerical solution of the Poisson equation

open access: yesТонкие химические технологии, 2011
A calculating formula to solve Poisson equation with boundary conditions conforming to its exact solution is proposed. In this formula an inhomogeneous term is replaced by Laplace operator in a revolved coordinate system.

Color Edge Detection Using the Normalization Anisotropic Gaussian Kernel and Multichannel Fusion

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
Color edge detection is a key technique in image processing for vision engineering. In this paper, a new edge detector based on normalized Anisotropic Gaussian Directional Derivative and Multi-channel Gradient Matrix Fusion is proposed.

Structure–Function Decoupling of the Sensorimotor and Default Mode Networks in Black Americans With MS

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background and Objectives Multiple sclerosis (MS) exhibits racially disparate rates of disease progression. Black people with MS (B‐PwMS) experience a more severe disease course than non‐Hispanic White people with MS (NHW‐PwMS). Here we investigated structural and functional connectivity as well as structure–function decoupling in the ...

Necessary Conditions for Weak Sharp Minima in Cone-Constrained Optimization Problems

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2012
We study weak sharp minima for optimization problems with cone constraints. Some necessary conditions for weak sharp minima of higher order are established by means of upper Studniarski or Dini directional derivatives.

On the Shape Differentiability of Objectives: A Lagrangian Approach and the Brinkman Problem

open access: yesAxioms, 2018
This paper establishes the shape derivative of geometry-dependent objective functions for use in constrained variational problems. Using a Lagrangian approach, our differentiablity result is based on the theorem of Delfour⁻Zolésio on ...

A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis of the Recurrence of Autoimmune Encephalitis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Autoimmune encephalitis (AE) is a disease with a potential for recurrence, and patients receive immunotherapy to prevent it. However, there is no consensus on the duration of immunotherapy. This study aimed to determine the recurrence rate and identify the risk factors for AE to provide guidance on the duration of immunotherapy ...

Multiple threading of a triple-calix[6]arene host

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2019
The synthesis of the triple-calix[6]arene derivative 6 in which three calix[6]arene macrocycles are linked to a central 1,3,5-trimethylbenzene moiety is reported.

A Fundamental Theorem of Calculus for Second-order Directional Derivative

open access: yes, 2023
Given a two-variable function $f$ without critical points and a compact region $R$ bounded by two level curves of $f$, this note proves that the integral over $R$ of the second-order directional derivative of $f$ in the tangential directions of the ...

A Depolarizing Leak in Sodium Bicarbonate Cotransporter NBCe1 Causes Brain Edema

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives SLC4A4 encodes electrogenic sodium bicarbonate cotransporter NBCe1, prominently expressed in kidney and brain. Recessive loss‐of‐function variants in SLC4A4 cause proximal renal tubular acidosis, no brain edema. In the brain, NBCe1 is expressed by astrocytes, where it regulates pH and mediates astrocyte volume changes.

Prognostic Value of Neurofilament Light Chain and Glial Fibrillary Acidic Protein in ALD‐Related Myelopathy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background X‐linked adrenoleukodystrophy (X‐ALD) is a neurometabolic disorder caused by pathogenic variants in ABCD1, leading to slowly progressive spinal cord disease in nearly all affected men. Sensitive biomarkers to quantify disease severity and predict progression are needed for clinical care and trial design.
