Frequency-Discrimination Ability of Presbycusics [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1965
Forty elderly subjects were tested individually for frequency-discrimination ability, using a relatively simple automated testing procedure. These subjects were selected on the basis of audiological criteria as exhibiting typical presbycusic hearing deficits. A comparison group of 40 young adults, audiologically normal, were administered the same test.

On the Ability of PolSAR Measurements to Discriminate Among Mangrove Species [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing, 2020
In this article, apolarimetric synthetic aperture radar (PolSAR) feature is analyzed to discriminate among different mangrove species. This feature, which is related to the Wishart distance, maximizes the contrast among mangrove species optimizing the ratio between quadratic forms.
