An Engineered Solidified Peptide Hemocyte Sponge as Nanomotor Storage to Combat Bacterial Colitis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Peptides immobilized via nickel coordination can stabilize the framework structure. Following coating with red blood cell membranes, these constructs are capable of continuously sequestering endotoxins and mitigating colonic pathogenic damage by alleviating bacterial‐induced ferroptosis.

Can pigs add another “P” to the PPR? Serological evidence of frequent Peste des petits ruminants infections in pigs in Nigeria

open access: yesVeterinary Research
To achieve the global eradication of Peste des petits ruminants (PPR), the epidemiological role of atypical hosts must be fully understood. Among domestic animals, pigs are, until now, the only species that has proven to fulfil criteria relevant for ...

Stimuli‐Responsive Supramolecular Biomaterials for Cancer Theranostics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The ultimate goal of cancer theranostics is to get imaging agents and therapeutic cargo to tumor sites when and where they are required. “Smart” systems should be developed. This review discusses the characteristics of physiological stimuli, types and action modes of external stimuli, construction approaches and working principles, as well as ...

AIEgen‐Based Proactive Early Warning System and Precise Treatment Strategy for Monkeypox Prevention and Control

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An intelligent early warning and treatment system for monkeypox, utilizing a sprayable AIEgen‐ liquid dressing (AIE@LD) that responds to lesion pH. Integrated with a smartphone app and cloud platform, it enables real‐time infection detection via fluorescence imaging and triggers on‐demand photodynamic therapy under white light, effectively eradicating ...

Alkaline Phosphatase‐Activated NIR‐II AIEgens Nanosystem for Surgical and Postoperative Closed‐Loop Therapy of Advanced Osteosarcoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study designed a tumor microenvironment‐responsive AIEgen nanoparticle for near‐infrared photoimmunotherapy, which inhibits primary tumors and metastasis by promoting pyroptosis and suppressing aerobic glycolysis. ABSTRACT In advanced osteosarcoma, tumor invasion often prevents complete resection, and immunotherapy is limited by the tumor's ...

Eradication versus control: the economics of global infectious disease policies

open access: yesBulletin of the World Health Organization, 2004
A disease is controlled if, by means of a public policy, the circulation of an infectious agent is restricted below the level that would be sustained by individuals acting independently to control the disease.
