MIND-BODY RESPONSE AND NEUROPHYSIOLOGICAL CHANGES DURING STRESS AND MEDITATION: CENTRAL ROLE OF HOMEOSTASIS [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Stress profoundly impacts quality of life and may lead to various diseases and conditions. Understanding the underlying physiological and neurological processes that take place during stress and meditation techniques may be critical for effectively ...

The impact of Hnrnpl deficiency on transcriptional patterns of developing muscle cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We performed nanopore whole‐transcriptome sequencing comparing RNA from Hnrnpl‐knockdown versus control C2C12 myoblasts to investigate the contributions of Hnrnpl to muscle development. Our results indicate that Hnrnpl regulates the expression of genes involved with Notch signaling and skeletal muscle, particularly splicing patterns of specific muscle ...

Tryptophan metabolite atlas uncovers organ, age, and sex‐specific variations

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Tryptophan metabolites were analyzed across twelve organs, the central nervous system, and serum in male and female mice at three life stages. We found tissue‐, sex‐, and age‐specific differences, including increased indole‐3‐pyruvate and kynurenine in aging males.

Immune cognition, social justice and asthma: structured stress and the developing immune system [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
We explore the implications of IR Cohen's work on immune cognition for understanding rising rates of asthma morbidity and mortality in the US. Immune cognition is conjoined with central nervous system cognition, and with the cognitive function of the ...

Indukált pluripotens őssejtek szerepe a neurológiai betegségek modellezésében [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The longitudinal follow-up of the development and course of central nervous system related diseases on a molecular level was unsolved for decades. Direct examination of the pathological state on organ or tissue levels was feasible in the late stage of ...

Enteric synucleinopathy: real entity or only a trendy concept?

open access: yesFree Neuropathology, 2020
An accumulating body of literature has emerged in the past 25 years to show that Parkinson’s disease (PD) is not only a disorder of the brain but also of the gastrointestinal tract and more generally of the gut-brain axis. Gastrointestinal symptoms occur

Molecular determinants of signal transduction in tropomyosin receptor kinases

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Tropomyosin receptor kinases control critical neuronal functions, but how do the same receptors produce diverse cellular responses? This review explores the structural mechanisms behind Trk signaling diversity, focusing on allosteric modulation and ligand bias.

Community Lynching and the US Asthma Epidemic [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
We explore the implications of IR Cohen's work on immune cognition for understanding rising rates of asthma morbidity and mortality in the US. Immune cognition is inherently linked with central nervous system cognition, and with the cognitive function ...
