Diffuse reflection in periodic arrayed disk metasurfaces

open access: yesOptics Express, 2021
Metamaterials of metal-insulator-metal structures represent effective ways in manipulating light absorbance for photodetection, sensing, and energy harvesting etc. Most of the time, specular reflection has been used in characterizing resonances of metamaterials without considering diffuse scattering from their periodic subwavelength units.

Diffusion in a disk with inclusion: Evaluating Green’s functions

open access: yesPLOS ONE, 2022
We give exact Green’s functions in two space dimensions. We work in a scaled domain that is a circle of unit radius with a smaller circular “inclusion”, of radiusa, removed, without restriction on the size or position of the inclusion. We consider the two cases where one of the two boundaries is absorbing and the other is reflecting.

Evaluation of the Etest and disk diffusion method for detection of the activity of ceftazidime-avibactam against Enterobacterales and Pseudomonas aeruginosa in China

open access: yesBMC Microbiology, 2020
Background Ceftazidime-avibactam was approved in China in 2019 for treating complicated intra-abdominal infections, hospital-acquired pneumonia, ventilator-associated pneumonia, and infections caused by Enterobacterales and Pseudomonas aeruginosa for ...

Caspofungin Disk Diffusion Breakpoints and Quality Control [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Microbiology, 2008
ABSTRACT Interpretive disk diffusion breakpoints for caspofungin are proposed by evaluating 762 isolates of Candida spp., representing 10 different species obtained as part of the caspofungin clinical trials. Standardized broth microdilution reference tests were compared to the zone diameters observed with

ON THE GRAIN-MODIFIED MAGNETIC DIFFUSIVITIES IN PROTOPLANETARY DISKS [PDF]

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2016
ABSTRACT Weakly ionized protoplanetary disks (PPDs) are subject to nonideal magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) effects, including ohmic resistivity, the Hall effect, and ambipolar diffusion (AD), and the resulting magnetic diffusivities ( , and

Diffusion of heat and mass in flow of viscous fluid over a moving porous and rotating disk

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2022
In this paper, we have studied the transport of heat and mass in viscous fluid flow over a disk, rotating with variable angular velocity, whereas, both the nonuniform injection and suction velocities can take place through its porous surface.

Transient convective diffusion to a disk electrode [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Electroanalytical Chemistry and Interfacial Electrochemistry, 1974
Summary Mass transfer to a rotating disk electrode is calculated at large times after aconcentration step or a flux step at the surface. Radial dependence of concentration is ignored. Further application of results to treat more complex boundary conditions is discussed.

Diffusion of hard disks and rodlike molecules on surfaces [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review E, 2001
We study the submonolayer diffusion of hard disks and rodlike molecules on smooth surfaces through numerical simulations and theoretical arguments. We concentrate on the behavior of the various diffusion coefficients as a function of the two-dimensional (2D) number density rho in the case where there are no explicit surface-particle interactions.
