On the Formation of Planetesimals via Secular Gravitational Instabilities with Turbulent Stirring
We study the gravitational instability (GI) of small solids in a gas disk as a mechanism to form planetesimals. Dissipation from gas drag introduces secular GI, which proceeds even when standard GI criteria for a critical density or Toomre's $Q$ predict ...

Asymptotic models of meridional flows in thin viscous accretion disks
We present the results of numerical integrations yielding the structure of and meridional flow in axisymmetric thin viscous accretion disk models.

Modelling Circumbinary Planets: The case of Kepler-38 [PDF]
Recently, a number of planets orbiting binary stars have been discovered by the Kepler space telescope. In a few systems the planets reside close to the dynamical stability limit.

Diffusion in a disk with inclusion: Evaluating Green’s functions
We give exact Green’s functions in two space dimensions. We work in a scaled domain that is a circle of unit radius with a smaller circular “inclusion”, of radiusa, removed, without restriction on the size or position of the inclusion. We consider the two cases where one of the two boundaries is absorbing and the other is reflecting.

We carry out a series of local, vertically stratified shearing box simulations of protoplanetary disks that include ambipolar diffusion and a net vertical magnetic field.

Assessment Method for Leaf Litters Allelopathic Effect on Cyanobacteria [PDF]
A new bioassay technique combining leaf disk and softagar over-layer methods was developed to investigate the allelopathic effect of deciduous leaf litters on the growth of cyanobacteria ( Microcystis aeruginosa Kütz.).

Based on the generalized Langevin equation for the momentum of a Brownian particle a generalized asymptotic Einstein relation is derived. It agrees with the well-known Einstein relation in the case of normal diffusion but continues to hold for sub- and ...

DiSK: A Diffusion Model for Structured Knowledge
Structured (dictionary-like) data presents challenges for left-to-right language models, as they can struggle with structured entities for a wide variety of reasons such as formatting and sensitivity to the order in which attributes are presented. Tabular generative models suffer from a different set of limitations such as their lack of flexibility. We

We present global 3D MHD simulations of disks of gas and solids, aiming at developing models that can be used to study various scenarios of planet formation and planet-disk interaction in turbulent accretion disks. A second goal is to show that Cartesian

Ampicillin disk diffusion susceptibility testing of Haemophilus influenzae
A total of 114 strains of Haemophilus influenza were characterized with respect to beta-lactamase production and ampicillin MIC. Of this total, 41 strains produced a TEM-type beta-lactamase, and ampicillin MICs for these strains were greater than or equal to 2.0 microgram/ml.
