Table_2_Performance Evaluation of the Gradient Diffusion Strip Method and Disk Diffusion Method for Ceftazidime–Avibactam Against Enterobacterales and Pseudomonas aeruginosa: A Dual-Center Study.DOCX

open access: yes, 2021
Objectives: Ceftazidime–avibactam is a novel synthetic beta-lactam + beta-lactamase inhibitor combination. We evaluated the performance of the gradient diffusion strip method and the disk diffusion method for the determination of ceftazidime–avibactam ...

A new flow chip in combination with multiphoton microscopy as a protocol for longitudinal 3D imaging of tissue calcification under shear stress

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Miniaturized flow chip platform enabling continuous perfusion and longitudinal multiphoton 3D imaging of vascular smooth muscle cell constructs under physiological flow. Brightfield imaging guides region selection, while CellTracker Green and mRuby‐labeled fetuin‐A visualize cells and mineral deposition, respectively. Magnesium supplementation markedly

Disk diffusion method [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Disk diffusion method is based on the principle that antibiotic-impregnated disk, placed on agar previously inoculated with the test bacterium, pick-up moisture and the antibiotic diffuse radially outward through the agar medium producing an antibiotic ...

Early Clinical, Imaging, and Pathological Characteristics of SRPK3/TTN‐Digenic Myopathy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective SRPK3/TTN‐digenic myopathy was recently established as a skeletal muscle myopathy caused by digenic inheritance. This study characterizes the early clinical presentation of SRPK3/TTN‐digenic myopathy in one previously reported and seven newly identified pediatric patients.

Disk diffusion, agar dilution and the E-test for susceptibility testing of Corynebacterium jeikeium

open access: yes, 1996
Objective: The susceptibilities to penicillin, tetracycline, erythromycin, gentamicin, vancomycin and teicoplanin of 58 strains of Corynebacterium jeikeium were assessed by disk diffusion and agar dilution reference methods. Methods: Zone sizes and ...

Low‐Cost, Large‐Scale Nanoporous Metals by Mechanical Alloying, Oxide Reduction, and Dealloying of Powders

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Powder metal processing provides scalable advantages in nanoporous (np) metal development. Mechanical alloying is used to produce unique precursors for hybrid nanopore formation by oxide reduction and dealloying. As demonstrated in np Ag, this approach improves process efficiency while promoting smaller ligaments and larger pores, both of which are ...

DIFFUSION AND ABSORPTION IN DISKS OF PLANT TISSUE [PDF]

open access: yesNew Phytologist, 1948
Most investigations of cells of higher organisms are carried out with cells aggregated in the form either of whole organs or of slices of tissue: to deduce the behaviour of cells from the results of such experiments is one of the major physiological problems.

Evaluation of a Novel System for Rapid Antibacterial Susceptibility Testing [PDF]

open access: yesIranian Journal of Public Health, 2007
Early determination of antibacterial susceptibility increases the success of therapy, decreases unnecessary use of antibacterial agents and side-effects, and lowers the overall healthcare cost. We have evaluated a rapid antibacterial susceptibility test,

Disk Diffusion Propagation Model for the Outburst of XTE J1118+480

open access: yes, 2001
We present a linear diffusion model for the evolution of the double-peaked outburst in the transient source XTE J1118+480. The model treats the two outbursts as episodic mass deposition at the outer radius of the disk followed by evolution of disk ...

Low‐Angle Grain Boundaries and Re‐Segregation in Single‐Crystalline Ni‐Base Superalloys

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates that Re‐segregation at low‐angle grain boundaries (LAGBs) in Ni‐base superalloys is influenced by misorientation angle. Advanced microscopy and atom probe tomography reveal that higher misorientation angles increases Re‐segregation.
