Nano-sized prismatic vacancy dislocation loops and vacancy clusters in tungsten
The vacancies produced in high energy collision cascades of irradiated tungsten can form vacancy clusters or prismatic vacancy dislocation loops. Moreover, vacancy loops can easily transform into planar vacancy clusters.

Dislocation structure of tungsten irradiated by light ions
Single crystalline tungsten samples were irradiated by He, D, and H at room temperature, with a calculated damage level in the peak maximum up to 0.04 dpa and with He up to 0.5 dpa.

Annealing of dislocation loops in dislocation dynamics simulations
We report of 3-dimensional discrete dislocation dynamics (DDD) simulations of dislocation loops coarsening by vacancy bulk difiusion. The calculation is based upon a model which couples the difiusion theory of vacancies to the DDD in order to obtain the climb rate of the dislocation segments.

Interaction energy of interface dislocation loops in piezoelectric bi-crystals
Interface dislocations may dramatically change the electric properties, such as polarization, of the piezoelectric crystals. In this paper, we study the linear interactions of two interface dislocation loops with arbitrary shape in generally anisotropic ...

Strain Localisation and Fracture of Nuclear Reactor Core Materials
The production of prismatic dislocation loops in nuclear reactor core materials results in hardening because the loops impede dislocation motion. Yielding often occurs by a localised clearing of the loops through interactions with gliding dislocations ...

Climb kinetics of dislocation loops in aluminium
Abstract The annealing kinetics of dislocation loops in quenched aluminium has been studied using transmission electron microscopy techniques. An influence of the vicinity of the foil surface on the rate of climb was confirmed. The apparent activation energy for climb of faulted loops was found to be 1·18 ± 0·02 ev and the pre-exponential factor, (7 ...

In-situ TEM Study of Dislocation Loop Evolution in Tungsten under Dual-ion Beam Irradiation
Fusion reactors are regarded as the ultimate source of energy for addressing future power problems. However, prior to the building of fusion power plants, a number of scientific obstacles including significant degradation of plasma-facing material (PFM).

DISLOCATION DIPOLES AND DISLOCATION LOOPS
Basic theoretical ideas on the properties of two special dislocation configurations, dislocation dipoles and prismatic dislocation loops, are presented. Some of the author's recent results, based mostly on the application of the model of elastic continuum on these crystalline defects, are also given.
