Surface Engineering‐Induced d‐Band Center Down‐Regulation in High‐Entropy Alloy Nanowires for Enhanced Nanozyme Catalysis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
PtRuFeCoNi HEA NWs are synthesized by adjusting the metal composition and surface‐engineered with PDA to create HEA NWs@PDA nanozymes with superior catalytic activities and photothermal properties. DFT calculations confirm that self‐polymerized PDA surface engineering moderately lowers the d‐band center of the HEAs, optimizes the surface charge ...

Patchouli Ethanol Extract Pogostemon cablin Benth. Against Aging Profiles in Doxorubicin‐Induced 3T3‐L1 Fibroblast Cell Lines

open access: yesAGING MEDICINE, EarlyView.
Pogostemon cablin Benth. (PCEE) is a promising antiaging agent that inhibits ROS, decreases the senescence‐associated β‐galactosidase (SA‐β‐gal) gene, and maintains telomere length in doxorubicin‐induced 3T3‐L1 fibroblast cells. The researchers extend their gratitude to www.freepik.com for providing Figure telomer.

The effect of mutant SOD1 dismutase activity on non-cell autonomous degeneration in familial amyotrophic lateral sclerosis

open access: yesNeurobiology of Disease, 2009
Mutant superoxide dismutase type 1 (MTSOD1), the most common known cause of familial amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (FALS), is believed to cause FALS as a result of a toxicity of the protein. MTSOD1s with full dismutase enzymatic activity (e.g., G37R) and

Phototherapy via Modulation of β‐Amyloid in Combating Alzheimer's Disease

open access: yesAggregate, EarlyView.
This review introduces the light‐regulated Aβ aggregation, highlighting four applications: photodynamic therapy (PDT), photothermal therapy (PTT), photopharmacology, and photobiomodulation (PBM) systems. It also summarizes the current issues and proposes the prospects of photo‐induced modulation of Aβ aggregation and clearance as a therapeutic strategy

Impact of Salmonella genome rearrangement on gene expression

open access: yesEvolution Letters, Volume 6, Issue 6, Page 426-437, December 2022., 2022
Abstract In addition to nucleotide variation, many bacteria also undergo changes at a much larger scale via rearrangement of their genome structure (GS) around long repeat sequences. These rearrangements result in genome fragments shifting position and/or orientation in the genome without necessarily affecting the underlying nucleotide sequence.

Overexpression of Extracellular Superoxide Dismutase 3 Inhibits Cancer Cell Growth and Migration in Colorectal Cancer

open access: yesThe Turkish Journal of Gastroenterology
Background/Aims: Incidence of colorectal cancer is rapidly increasing worldwide. Extracellular superoxide dismutase (EcSOD; SOD3) is an antioxidant enzyme. However, SOD3 roles in colorectal cancer progression remain uncertain.
