Pontian Hellenism in continuous “exodus” – prosfygia. Testimonies and interviews

open access: yesCahiers Balkaniques
Hellenism, established on the shores of the Black Sea (Greek Pontus) since ancient times (8th century BC colonization), preserved the Greek language and the Greek Spirit.

Long‐term strength and deformational analysis of reinforced concrete columns

open access: yesJournal of Civil Engineering and Management, 2004
The paper presents a method of non‐linear analysis of load‐carrying capacity and deformations of reinforced concrete columns subjected to long‐term loads. Physical relationships expressing non‐linear relations between internal forces and stresses,

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Gaussian random waves in elastic media

open access: yes, 2007
Similar to the Berry conjecture of quantum chaos we consider elastic analogue which incorporates longitudinal and transverse elastic displacements with corresponding wave vectors.

Crosstalk between the ribosome quality control‐associated E3 ubiquitin ligases LTN1 and RNF10

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of the E3 ligase LTN1, the ubiquitin‐like modifier UFM1, or the deubiquitinating enzyme UFSP2 disrupts endoplasmic reticulum–ribosome quality control (ER‐RQC), a pathway that removes stalled ribosomes and faulty proteins. This disruption may trigger a compensatory response to ER‐RQC defects, including increased expression of the E3 ligase RNF10 ...

Prediction of the anticlastic shape changes of hybrid composite material

open access: yesJournal of Civil Engineering and Management, 2010
In search of structurally better and aesthetically more attractive solutions of the erection of various structures, non‐standard anticlastic elements are used more frequently.

Determination of displacements in cross-sections of four-bar mechanism links from distributed dynamic loads and their animation using MAPLE

open access: yesВестник КазНУ. Серия математика, механика, информатика, 2018
The links of high-speed mechanisms and manipulators are deformed under the action of inertia forces and external loads. These deformations have significantly influence on the accuracy of execution of the required law of motion by the operating point of

Function‐driven design of a surrogate interleukin‐2 receptor ligand

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Interleukin (IL)‐2 signaling can be achieved and precisely fine‐tuned through the affinity, distance, and orientation of the heterodimeric receptors with their ligands. We designed a biased IL‐2 surrogate ligand that selectively promotes effector T and natural killer cell activation and differentiation. Interleukin (IL) receptors play a pivotal role in

Static analysis and simplified design of suspension bridges having various rigidity of cables

open access: yesJournal of Civil Engineering and Management, 2010
Increased deformability can be considered as the basic disadvantage of suspension bridges. One of the ways to increase the rigidity of a suspension bridge is to transfer a part of stiffening girder rigidity to a suspension main cable.

Analysis of Embedded Retaining Wall Using the Subgrade Reaction Method

open access: yesStudia Geotechnica et Mechanica, 2015
This paper analyzes the distribution of internal forces and displacements of embedded retaining wall in Quaternary deposits and Tertiary clays. Calculations have been based on the Subgrade Reaction Method (SRM) for two different types of earth pressure ...
