A nucleotide‐independent, pan‐RAS‐targeted DARPin elicits anti‐tumor activity in a multimodal manner

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We report a Designed Ankyrin Repeat Protein that binds and inhibits RAS proteins, which serve as central cell signaling hubs and are essential for the progression of many cancers. Its unique feature is that it does not discriminate between different RAS isoforms or mutations and is capable of binding to RAS in both its active (GTP‐bound) and inactive ...

De Svante Arrhenius ao peagâmetro digital: 100 anos de medida de acidez From Svante Arrhenius to the digital ph meter: a century of acidity measurement

open access: yesQuímica Nova, 2007
This work describes the establishment of the concept of pH and the evolution of its measurement. The origin of the pH definition can be found in the development of the chemistry of aqueous solutions during the XIXth century. The electrolytic dissociation

On the Energy-specific Photodissociation Pathways of 14N2 and 14N15N Isotopomers to N Atoms of Different Reactivity: A Quantum Dynamical Perspective

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2023
Photodissociation of the nitrogen molecule in the vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) is a major source of reactive nitrogen atoms in the upper atmosphere of Earth and throughout the solar system.

A computational study of CS bond dissociation enthalpies in petroleum chemistry [PDF]

open access: yesHeteroatom Chemistry, 2010
AbstractHigh‐level theoretical methods (BMK, B3LYP, B98, B3P86, B3PW91, PBE1PBE, PBE1KIS, MPWPW91, MPW1KCIS, TPSS1KCIS, G3, G3//BMK, and CBS‐Q) were utilized to study the carbon–sulfur bond dissociation enthalpies (BDEs) of hydrocarbons in petroleum chemistry.

ITGAV and SMAD4 influence the progression and clinical outcome of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In SMAD4‐positive pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), integrin subunit alpha V (ITGAV) activates latent TGF‐β, which binds to the TGF‐β receptor and phosphorylates SMAD2/3. The activated SMAD2/3 forms a complex with SMAD4, and together they translocate to the nucleus, modulating gene expression to promote proliferation, migration, and invasion. In

Sensing Microorganisms Using Rapid Detection Methods: Supramolecular Approaches

open access: yesBiosensors
Supramolecular chemistry relies on the dynamic association/dissociation of molecules through non-covalent interactions. These interactions of a self-assembled system can be strategically exploited for sensing several microorganisms.

Inhibition of CDK9 enhances AML cell death induced by combined venetoclax and azacitidine

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The CDK9 inhibitor AZD4573 downregulates c‐MYC and MCL‐1 to induce death of cytarabine (AraC)‐resistant AML cells. This enhances VEN + AZA‐induced cell death significantly more than any combination of two of the three drugs in AraC‐resistant AML cells.

Hydrodynamical simulations of the decay of high-speed molecular turbulence. I. Dense molecular regions

open access: yes, 2002
We present the results from three dimensional hydrodynamical simulations of decaying high-speed turbulence in dense molecular clouds. We compare our results, which include a detailed cooling function, molecular hydrogen chemistry and a limited C and O ...

A synthetic benzoxazine dimer derivative targets c‐Myc to inhibit colorectal cancer progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Benzoxazine dimer derivatives bind to the bHLH‐LZ region of c‐Myc, disrupting c‐Myc/MAX complexes, which are evaluated from SAR analysis. This increases ubiquitination and reduces cellular c‐Myc. Impairing DNA repair mechanisms is shown through proteomic analysis.
