Thermodynamic stability and kinetics of perovskite dissolution
Nature, 1981Perovskite, a SYNROC host mineral for nuclear wastes, is thermodynamically unstable in natural waters and in association with common minerals. Leach experiments demonstrate that CaTiO3 (perovskite), SrTiO3 and BaTiO3 are as reactive as some silicate glasses below 100°C, but leach much more slowly than glasses above 100°C.

Thermodynamics of dissolution of simple gases in water
Accounts of Chemical Research, 1985Experimental results corresponding to a wide range of temperature (between room temperature and 473 K) in which the thermodynamic quantities of dissolution obtained from the solubility data are reliable enough, are reviewed and compared with those predicted by perturbation theories applied to hard-sphere reference fluids.

Thermodynamics of the Dissolution of Crystalline 3-Alanylhistidine
Russian Journal of Physical Chemistry A, 2019The standard enthalpies of combustion and formation of crystalline 3-alanil-hystidine are calculated. The thermal effects of the dissolution of crystalline 3-alanil-hystidine in water and potassium hydroxide solution at 298.15 K are determined via direct calorimetry.

Thermodynamics of dissolution of thiourea in triethylene glycol
Russian Journal of Physical Chemistry A, 2016The solubility of thiourea in triethylene glycol was determined in the temperature range of 318.35–357.75 K. The experimental data were approximated by the modified Apelblat equation. The dissolution enthalpy and dissolution entropy were calculated from the experimental data.

Polymer, 2020
Abstract Dissolution behavior of polyacrylontrile (PAN) in N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF) and dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO) is investigated in terms of dipole-dipole interactions at polymer-solvent interface. Fourier-transformed infrared (FTIR) imaging of polymer-solvent interface under static dissolution condition at 25 °C and 60 °C exhibits the gel-like ...

Thermodynamics of the Dissolution of Nitrilotrimethylphosphonic Acid in Water
Russian Journal of Physical Chemistry A, 2018The enthalpies of dissolution of crystalline nitrilotrimethylphosphonic acid С3Н12NO9Р3 (NTPA) in water at 298.15 K are determined calorimetrically. The standard enthalpies of formation of nitrilotrimethylphosphonic acid and products of its stagewise dissociation in aqueous solutions are calculated.

Thermodynamics of the dissolution temperatures of copolymer-systems
Colloid and Polymer Science, 1977The maximum melting temperatures of the last detectable extended-sequence-mixing crystals of copolymers of ethylene mixed with low molecular weighted solvents have been measured for various solvents covering the total concentration range. A quantitative thermodynamic description can be established whereby the first virial coefficient must be adjusted ...

Thermodynamics of apatite crystal growth and dissolution
Journal of Crystal Growth, 1981Abstract The rates of dissolution and crystal growth of hydroxyapatite, Ca5(PO4)3OH, are subjects of considerable interest because of their involvement in many biological and commercial processes. An important factor governing these rates can be the composition of the quasi-saturated solution immediately adjacent to the crystal surface which acts as ...

Thermodynamics of Dissolution of Urea in Water, Alcohols, and Their Mixtures
Journal of Molecular Liquids, 2017Abstract A study has been carried out by making use of published data for the solubility of urea to evaluate the thermodynamic quantities associated with the dissolution of urea in water, alcohols, and mixture of these solvents. The Δ G values show an increase with the nature of the solvent in the order water, − 1.75; methanol, + 2.46; ethanol, + 5 ...

On the Dissection of the Unfolding Reaction by the Dissolution Thermodynamics of N-Alkyl Amides
International Journal of Biological Macromolecules, 2002Dissection of the unfolding thermodynamics based on small molecule dissolution led to controversial interpretations. It is proposed here that uncertainty about water transfer processes to be used in first approximation analyses of protein stability may be removed (i) separating liquid-dissolution-like effects from solid-like packing contributions; (ii)
