Accelerating Stellar Photometric Distance Estimates with Neural Networks
Building on the Bayesian approach to estimating stellar distances from broadband photometry, we show that the computation can be accelerated by about an order of magnitude by using neural networks. Focusing on the case of the ugrizy filter complement for

Spatial Analysis by Distance Indices
1. A new method of quantifying spatial pattern was introduced for two-dimensional mapped data, with an associated index of aggregation and a test for departures from randomness, based on an attractive algorithm in which individuals in the sample move to a regular arrangement which resembles a hexagonal lattice, using Voronoi tessellations.

Loss of the frequently mutated chromatin remodeler ARID1A, a subunit of the SWI/SNF cBAF complex, results in less open chromatin, alternative splicing, and the failure to stop cells from progressing through the cell cycle after DNA damage in bladder (cancer) cells. Created in BioRender. Epigenetic regulators, such as the SWI/SNF complex, with important

The TRGB-SBF Project. I. A Tip of the Red Giant Branch Distance to the Fornax Cluster with JWST
Differences between the local value of the Hubble constant measured via the distance ladder versus the value inferred from the cosmic microwave background with the assumption of the standard ΛCDM model have reached over 5 σ significance.

Araucaria Project: Pulsating stars in binary systems and as distance indicators
Pulsating stars, like Cepheids or RR Lyrae stars, are ones of the most important distance indicators. They are also key objects for testing the predictions of stellar evolution and stellar pulsation theory.

This is it ! : Indicating and looking in collaborative work at distance
Little is known of the interplay between deixis and eye movements in remote collaboration. This paper presents quantitative results from an experiment where participant pairs had to collaborate at a distance using chat tools that differed in the way messages could be enriched with spatial information from the map in the shared workspace. We studied how

This study highlights the importance of multi‐omic analyses in characterizing colorectal cancers. Indeed, our analysis revealed a rare CMS1 exhibiting dampened immune activation, including reduced PD‐1 expression, moderate CD8+ T‐cell infiltration, and suppressed JAK/STAT pathway.

Novae as distance indicators [PDF]
Nova shells are characteristically prolate with equatorial bands and polar caps. Failure to account for the geometry can lead to large errors in expansion parallaxes for individual novae.

This study used longitudinal transcriptomics and gene‐pattern classification to uncover patient‐specific mechanisms of chemotherapy resistance in breast cancer. Findings reveal preexisting drug‐tolerant states in primary tumors and diverse gene rewiring patterns across patients, converging on a few dysregulated functional modules. Despite receiving the
