Distortion analysis of switched-current circuits

ISCAS '98. Proceedings of the 1998 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems (Cat. No.98CH36187), 2002
A distortion analysis based on the large signal behavior of the basic switched-current memory cell is presented. In the first part, based on a closed form solution of the step response, distortion due to the settling error is addressed. In the second part, distortion caused by clock-feedthrough is analysed. The solutions are compared with simulated and/

Influence of harmonic distortion in current transformer

2016 17th International Conference on Harmonics and Quality of Power (ICHQP), 2016
This study aims to evaluate the performance (accuracy assessment) of current transformers in the presence of harmonic distortion. Using the software ATP-Alternative Transients Program, an equivalent CT circuit model was validated and the simulation results were compared with tests performed in prototypes.

Harmonic distortion in switched-current circuits

Proceedings of 1997 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems. Circuits and Systems in the Information Age ISCAS '97, 2002
Harmonic distortion in basic Switched-Current (SI) cells is investigated and closed-form equations are presented here, for the first time, concerning the effects of V/sub t/ mismatch, clock-feedthrough, and signal dependent output conductance. We show that with short channel transistors the variation of the output conductance is the dominant source of ...

Nonlinear distortion in current-feedback amplifiers

Microelectronics Journal, 1985
A systematic method to characterize the nonlinear distortion in current-feedback amplifiers is described in this paper. This technique is easy to apply and allows us to determine analytical expressions for 2nd and 5th coefficients of harmonic distortion for single stage amplifiers. It is also applicable to differential pairs.

A compensation algorithm for the distorted secondary current of a current transformer

Eighth IEE International Conference on Developments in Power System Protection, 2004
Current transformer (CT) saturation may cause the mal-operation or operating time delay of protection relays. In this paper, a new algorithm for the compensation of the distorted secondary current due to CT saturation is suggested. The secondary current can be expressed as the linear combination of sinusoidal and exponential signals, if no saturation ...

Voltage and current distortion generated by the CNC

2017 Progress in Applied Electrical Engineering (PAEE), 2017
The paper presents the results of voltage and current measurements performed in electrical drive system of CNC machines. The tests were made for different operation states of devices. We analysed the influence of nonlinear devices for current and voltage waveforms.

Predicting harmonic distortion in switched-current memory circuits

1993 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems, 1994
The switched-current (SI) technique has recently been proposed as a cheaper alternative to the switched-capacitor (SC) technique. This stems largely from the fact that the analog signal processing functions performed by a SC circuit using linear capacitors and MOS transistors can be replaced by a SI circuit consisting solely of MOS transistors. At this

Comprehensive distortion compensation of grid-connected inverter currents

IECON 2014 - 40th Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2014
The paper presents a comprehensive approach to the compensation of phase current distortion of grid-connected power inverters. Four different sources of current distortion are addressed: imperfect grid synchronization caused by the distortion in the grid voltages, voltage fluctuations in the dc link, time delays in the estimation of grid voltages, and ...

A Low Distortion, Current Feedback, Programmable Gain Amplifier

2005 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems, 2005
A programmable gain amplifier (PGA) is designed in a 0.18 /spl mu/m CMOS process, which makes use of current feedback building blocks. The voltage gain of the PGA can be changed from 0 dB to +60 dB with 2 dB steps and has a -3 dB bandwidth of 20 MHz. The PGA exhibits better than -60 dB spurious free dynamic range (SFDR) over the entire gain range at a ...

Gradient Distortion Correction for Low Frequency Current Density Imaging

2006 International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, 2006
Current density imaging (CDI) is a technique that uses magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to measure the distribution of externally applied electric current inside tissues. However, GDI processing is rendered inaccurate by the distortion caused by the nonlinearity of MRI gradient fields. The distortion interferes with the proper registration and the curl
