Harmonic Distortion in Switched Current Cells Due to Settling Error

Analog Integrated Circuits and Signal Processing, 2003
An analysis of the harmonic distortion in switched-current cells produced by the non-linear settling error is presented. Two approaches for computing the harmonic components are addressed: discrete-time Fourier series and power series expansion. They are based on the large signal behavior of the SI cell.

Sources of Current and Voltage Distortion

Abstract The development in electronics and power electronics results that traditional loads, such as, for example, incandescent bulb-based lighting systems, meaning the linear ones, which do not cause harmonic distortion are superseded by current harmonics-generating loads.

Current distortions compensation method for frequency converters

2012 IEEE 18th International Symposium for Design and Technology in Electronic Packaging (SIITME), 2012
This paper present a study of the effects of frequency converters to the power grid and a possible solution for current distortions compensation. Experimental measurements made, at different points of the grid, with the device Fluke 434 to a converter which supplies a 110 kW asynchronous motor, reveal the distortions of current.

Distortion in a semiconductor laser overmodulated by a sinusoidal current

IEEE MTT/ED/AP/LEO Societies Joint Chapter United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland Section. 1997 Workshop on High Performance Electron Devices for Microwave and Optoelectronic Applications. EDMO (Cat. No.97TH8305), 2002
When a semiconductor laser is overmodulated by a sinusoidal current, distortion occurs in the optical signal. Using a static limiter as a first model for the laser only permits a rough analysis of this effect. In order to describe the additional distortion arising when the optical intensity rises above threshold, an improved dynamic model is proposed ...

Contact current distortion due to the tunnel effect

Electrical Contacts - 1999. Proceedings of the Forty-Fifth IEEE Holm Conference on Electrical Contacts (Cat. No.99CB36343), 1999
The third harmonic distortion ratio of the tunnel current between two electrodes separated by a thin insulating film, is evaluated by analyzing the formula derived by Simmons (J. Appl. Phys. vol. 34, no. 6, pp. 1793-803, 1963) into the Fourier series in this paper. The results show that the theoretical third harmonic distortion ratio is a function of s/
