Distributed Dynamic State Estimation of Power Systems

IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics, 2018
In this paper, a novel distributed dynamic state estimation (DSE) method for real-time monitoring of power systems is implemented. In modern large-scale power grids, the number of deployed meters and the frequency of collecting data have remarkably increased.

A moving horizon scheme for distributed state estimation

Proceedings of the 48h IEEE Conference on Decision and Control (CDC) held jointly with 2009 28th Chinese Control Conference, 2009
This paper presents a novel distributed estimation algorithm based on the concept of moving horizon estimation. Under weak observability conditions we prove convergence of the state estimates computed by any sensor to the correct state even when constraints on noise are taken into account in the estimation process.

An approach for distributed state estimation of LTI systems

2016 54th Annual Allerton Conference on Communication, Control, and Computing (Allerton), 2016
We investigate the problem of distributed state estimation of a linear time-invariant (LTI) system by a network of sensors. We propose a new approach to designing distributed observers based on the following intuition: a given node (sensor) can reconstruct a certain portion of the state solely by using its own measurements together with an appropriate ...

State estimation of distribution networks

2018
Power system state estimation has been introduced over four decades ago and since then has become an integral part of the day to day network operation. State estimators are implemented in almost every control center around the world and are used to continuously monitor the power system in a near real-time fashion.

Fully distributed state estimation of smart grids

2012 IEEE International Conference on Communications (ICC), 2012
A large number of sensors, meters and intelligent electronic devices (IEDs) with the capabilities of sensing, actuation, computation and communication will be deployed in future smart power grids for the purpose of measurement, monitoring, protection, diagnosis, control, optimization and other transactions. The conventional centralized and hierarchical
