The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Capacity Decay Mechanism of the LCO + NMC532/Graphite Cells Combined with Post-Mortem Technique

open access: yesEnergies, 2017
Lithium ion batteries are widely used in portable electronics and transportations due to their high energy and high power with low cost. However, they suffer from capacity degradation during long cycling, thus making it urgent to study their decay ...

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Distributed connectivity of wireless networks [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the 2012 ACM symposium on Principles of distributed computing, 2012
We consider the problem of constructing a communication infrastructure from scratch, for a collection of identical wireless nodes. Combinatorially, this means a) finding a set of links that form a strongly connected spanning graph on a set of $n$ points in the plane, and b) scheduling it efficiently in the SINR model of interference.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

A novel WDOB‐based strategy endows droop‐controlled grid‐forming converters better dynamic and static performance in DC microgrids

open access: yesIET Power Electronics
The droop control strategy is popularly employed in DC microgrids. However, its virtual resistance will cause voltage deviation and reduce transient response. The DOB‐based method is proven to improve transient response in literature.

Adaptive virtual admittance control of bidirectional DC/DC converters for DC bus voltage ripple suppression in DC microgrids

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrical Power & Energy Systems
DC microgrids have the risk of wideband DC bus voltage ripples. The ripple frequency may vary with system operating conditions, increasing the difficulty in voltage ripple suppression.

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Fault-Tolerant Control for a Flexible Group Battery Energy Storage System Based on Cascaded Multilevel Converters

open access: yesEnergies, 2018
A flexible group battery energy storage system (FGBESS) based on cascaded multilevel converters is attractive for renewable power generation applications because of its high modularity and high power quality.

Linking neurogenesis, oligodendrogenesis, and myelination defects to neurodevelopmental disruption in primary mitochondrial disorders

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial remodeling shapes neural and glial lineage progression by matching metabolic supply with demand. Elevated OXPHOS supports differentiation and myelin formation, while myelin compaction lowers mitochondrial dependence, revealing mitochondria as key drivers of developmental energy adaptation.
