Multimodal Locomotion of Soft Robots

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
This review comprehensively surveys recent advances in multimodal locomotion within soft robotics. Typical locomotion modes are summarized and categorized. Furthermore, the underlying mechanisms enabling multimodal locomotion are discussed and classified into three primary categories: active control‐based, reconfiguration‐based, and environment ...

Dual Entropy Source Physical Unclonable Functions of Reconfigurable Feedback Field‐Effect Transistors with Polycrystalline Silicon Channels

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Physically unclonable functions (PUFs) of reconfigurable feedback field‐effect transistors (R‐FBFETs) with polycrystalline silicon channels are designed for dual entropy sources. The uniqueness and reliability of the dual entropy source PUF are verified by inter‐ and intra‐Hamming distances of 49.13% and 3.47%, respectively, as well as NIST statistical

Stimuli‐Responsive Electrofluidic Nervous System for Autonomous Soft Robots

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
A stimuli‐responsive electrofluidic nervous system (SENS) is introduced to achieve sensing, signal processing, and decision‐making using soft materials. Comprising fluidic switches and electroactive actuators, SENS enables multimodal stimuli‐responsiveness and autonomous control in soft robots.

Rewiring Droplet Interface Synapses

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Droplet interface synapses are used to create a neuromorphic network. Voltage pulses draw the droplets into contact and enable rewiring of the network through electrowetting. Results show that the heterogeneous droplet compositions and pore‐forming molecules may be used to tune the neuromorphic properties of the device using trapped charge as a form of
