LINC01116, a hypoxia‐lncRNA marker of pathological lymphangiogenesis and poor prognosis in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The LINC01116 long noncoding RNA is induced by hypoxia and associated with poor prognosis and high recurrence rates in two cohorts of lung adenocarcinoma patients. Here, we demonstrate that besides its expression in cancer cells, LINC01116 is markedly expressed in lymphatic endothelial cells of the tumor stroma in which it participates in hypoxia ...

Dataset for Antenna-Based Detection of Fault Types in Covered Conductors for 22 kV Voltage Power Lines

open access: yesScientific Data
This abstract presents a dataset for the detection of fault types in XLPE-covered conductors utilized in 22 kV medium voltage power distribution systems. We employed an antenna-based approach for detecting partial discharges.

Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.

On the Existence and Frequency Distribution of the Shell Primes

open access: yes, 2016
This research presents the results of a study on the existence and frequency distribution of the shell primes defined herein as prime numbers that result from the calculation of the "half-shell" of an p-dimensional entity of the form $n^p-(n-1)^p$ where ...

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Discrepancies in the distribution of prime numbers

open access: yesJournal of Number Theory, 1982
AbstractChebyshev has noticed a certain predominance of primes of the form 4n + 3 over those of the form 4n + 1. He asserted that limx→∞∑p > 2 (−1)(p − 1)2e−px = −∞. This was unproven until today. G. H. Hardy, J. E. Littlewood and E. Landau have shown its equivalence with an analogue to the famous Riemann hypothesis, namely, L(s, χ1mod 4) ≠ 0, Re(s ...

Therapeutic strategies for MMAE‐resistant bladder cancer through DPP4 inhibition

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We established monomethyl auristatin E (MMAE)‐resistant bladder cancer (BC) cell lines by exposure to progressively increasing concentrations of MMAE in vitro. RNA sequencing showed DPP4 expression was increased in MMAE‐resistant BC cells. Both si‐DPP4 and the DPP4 inhibitor sitagliptin suppressed the viability of MMAE‐resistant BC cells.

Beyond Expansion IV: Traces of Thin Semigroups

open access: yesDiscrete Analysis, 2018
Beyond Expansion IV: Traces of Thin Semigroups, Discrete Analysis 2018:6, 27 pp. This is the fourth in a series of papers by Bourgain and Kontorovich that study the arithmetic properties of groups and semigroups of 2-by-2 integer matrices.

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve
