Abstract In this chapter, we draw on political philosophy and ethics to identify ten principles of distributive justice that are relevant to climate policy. We have divided these principles into four categories: ‘greatest utility’, ‘individual rights and freedoms’, ‘solidarity and capacity’ and ‘contribution and benefit’.

Advanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.CT‐based finite element simulations combined with in situ X‐ray computed tomography are used to analyze insert pull‐out in nickel‐coated polymer foams. Despite variations in material parameters, deformation consistently concentrates within a narrow annular region around the insert.

Morphology, Transport, and Dynamics of Protein Adsorption in Open‐Cell Metal Foam
Advanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.Stainless steel (SS) open‐cell foams are shown to adsorb more protein per unit area than previously reported 316L SS and chromium oxide surfaces under static and flow conditions. An integrated approach combining 3D pore imaging, flow simulation, and protein adsorption experiments characterizes the foam’s performance.

Investigating the Low‐Temperature Phase Stability of the Binary Ta–W System
Advanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.Atomistic simulations show that the binary Ta–W system forms ordered intermetallic phases, B2‐TaW and D03‐TaW3, as 0 K ground states. Configurational entropy, however, lowers the free energy of the disordered bcc solid solution, which becomes the stable phase above about 400 K.

Advanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.Near‐surface deuterium enrichment profiles for different microstructural types of TiAl after exposure at 700 °C in a heavy water‐containing environment. The deuterium levels are significantly higher than expected from natural occurrence, indicating that the heavy water dissociated during the exposure treatment and entered the specimens.
