Light‐Fueled In‐Operando Shape Reconfiguration, Fixation, and Recovery of Magnetically Actuated Microtextured Covalent Adaptable Networks

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A covalent adaptable network with dynamic disulfide bonds (DS‐CAN) can rearrange its molecular topology through heating or UV irradiation. When combined with ferromagnetic particles, its photoresponsiveness at room temperature enables contactless, spatiotemporal regulation of dynamic bond exchanges during magnetomechanical actuation.

Halogen‐Bonded Liquid Crystal Elastomers as Initiator‐Free Photochemical Actuators

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The combination of dynamic disulfide bonds and halogen bonds in chain‐extended liquid crystal elastomers enables the fabrication of photochemical actuators without the need for a photoinitiator, advancing the design of multimodal soft actuators that can be reprogrammed and reprocessed through supramolecular functionalization.

Exploring DNA Functionalization Techniques for Silver Nanoparticles

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
This study evaluates four functionalization methods—salt‐aging, pH‐assisted, freezing‐directed, and microwave‐assisted—for attaching DNA strands to 20 nm silver nanoparticles (AgNPs). The resulting DNA‐AgNP conjugates are characterized and colloidal stability and DNA loading are assessed.

Heating Simulation of Film Heaters Fabricated by EHD Inkjet Printing for Satellite Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
New processes utilizing next‐generation printing technology are proposed to manufacture film heaters for satellite applications. In addition, the material properties of composite inks produced for application to this printing technology are derived. Film heaters are manufactured using the inks produced in this way, and heater verification is performed ...

Aqueous Synthesis of Poly(ethylene glycol)‐Amide‐Norbornene‐Carboxylate for Modular Hydrogel Crosslinking

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
An all aqueous synthesis of poly(ethylene glycol)‐amide‐norbornene‐carboxylate (PEGaNBCA) is developed via reacting carbic anhydride with amino‐terminated PEG. PEGaNBCA is readily crosslinked into hydrogels by click chemistries. PEGaNBCA crosslinked thiol‐norbornene hydrogels are hydrolytically stable but can be rendered hydrolytically labile through ...

Evolution of the Electronic Gap of Directly Synthesized Versus Mechanically Transferred WS2 Monolayer to Multilayer Films

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
The electronic properties of tungsten disulfide (WS₂) films are investigated using ultraviolet photoelectron and inverse photoemission spectroscopies (UPS/IPES). Differences in electronic gaps and energy levels between mechanically transferred and MOCVD‐grown films reveal the non‐negligible influence of preparation methods on electronic properties ...

Enhanced Implied Open Circuit Voltage of MoS2 via Cation‐based TFSI Passivation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Using hyperspectral photoluminescence imaging, implied open‐circuit voltage (iVoc) and ideality factor are extracted, revealing Li⁺ as the most effective in suppressing non‐radiative recombination. The extracted iVoc reflects the upper performance limit, guiding future high‐efficiency 2D photovoltaic device development.

Interfacial Yield Stress Response in Synthetic Mucin Solutions

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
The solution rheology of novel synthetic mucins mimicking natural mucin domains is studied. Like many natural mucin solutions, apparent solid‐like rheology is seen. However, no bulk structural features are found to explain it. Interfacial rheology and robust modelling reveal that this arises from molecular associations at the air–water interface ...
