Atomic Layer Deposition in Transistors and Monolithic 3D Integration

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Transistors are fundamental building blocks of modern electronics. This review summarizes recent progress in atomic layer deposition (ALD) for the synthesis of two‐dimensional (2D) metal oxides and transition‐metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs), with particular emphasis on their enabling role in monolithic three‐dimensional (M3D) integration for next ...

Inflammation and RONS Dysregulation by Redox Enzymes as Mechanistic Links in HIV-1–Cancer Comorbidity

open access: yesPathogens
Antiretroviral therapy (ART) effectively controls Human Immunodeficiency Virus Type-1 (HIV-1) infection in people with HIV-1 (PWH), preventing the progression of their infections to AIDS.

Magnetothermal‐Triggered Response and Self‐Healing of Recyclable and Reprocessable Nanocomposites for Actuation Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Developing recyclable materials for magnetic robotics that combine rapid response and self‐healing properties is challenging. Hence, this study focuses on the integration of magnetothermal nanoparticles into a dynamic sorbitol‐based vitrimer, a recyclable composite capable of remote actuation and self‐healing by magnetic heating.

Optimization of (Dithioperoxo)thiolate-Based Antifungal Agents for Triazole-Resistant Aspergillus Fumigatus

open access: yesPathogens
This investigation on novel antifungal agents featuring a thiol-reactive (dithioperoxo)thiolate chemical nucleus [-NC(S)S-SR] established that the optimal levels of fungal growth inhibition were achieved with thiomethyl-bound derivatives (R = Me).

Superconducting tantalum disulfide nanotapes; growth, structure and stoichiometry [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Superconducting tantalum disulfide nanowires have been synthesised by surface-assisted chemical vapour transport (SACVT) methods and their crystal structure, morphology and stoichiometry studied by powder X-ray diffraction (PXD), scanning electron ...

Mechanistic insights on the reduction of glutathione disulfide by protein disulfide isomerase [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, 2017
Significance Protein disulfide isomerase (PDI) is a ubiquitous enzyme involved in disulfide bond formation during protein folding. It has been related to neurological diseases (Parkinson or Alzheimer’s) because of unfolded protein response phenomena.

Tracing Sub‐Monolayer Contamination on Wafer‐Scale 2D Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Sub‐monolayer adventitious carbon contamination limits the performance and reproducibility of 2D material‐based devices. This study demonstrates scanning helium microscopy (SHeM) as a non‐destructive, ultra‐sensitive tool for wafer‐scale imaging of surface cleanliness.

Experimental and theoretical investigation on conformational and spectroscopic properties of dimethyl dithiodiglycolate, [CH3OC(O)CH2S]2 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Dimethyl dithiodiglycolate (DTG), [CH3OC(O)CH2S]2, was synthetized by complete oxidation of methyl thioglycolate (MTG) with I2, and characterized by gas chromatography coupled with electron-impact mass spectrometry.

Thermal Stability of Self-Assembled Monolayers of n-Hexanethiol on Au(111)-(1 × 1) and Au(001)-(1 × 1) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Thermal desorption in an ultrahigh vacuum of n-hexanethiol (C6T) self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) prepared from ethanolic solutions on Au(111) and Au(001) unreconstructed surfaces was investigated by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy.
