Derjaguin and the DMT Theory: A Farewell to DMT?
AbstractThere is a widespread belief that in the 1970s, two conflicting theories of the adhesion of a spherical particle to a substrate were published: the JKR and DMT theories. And that the dispute was resolved when Tabor introduced a parameter $$\mu$$ μ , such that for small $$\mu$$ μ

On the performance of quantized DMT signals [PDF]
Discrete multitone (DMT) signals are known to have large dynamic range, which make them prone to nonlinear effects such as the quantization effects inherent to the signal processing at the transmission chain. However, the analysis of these effects is difficult due to the noncontinuous nature of quantization characteristics.

The Streaming-DMT of Fading Channels [PDF]
We consider the sequential transmission of a stream of messages over a block-fading multi-input-multi-output (MIMO) channel. A new message arrives at the beginning of each coherence block, and the decoder is required to output each message sequentially, after a delay of $T$ coherence blocks.

Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

14‐day casting‐induced immobilization reduced gastrocnemius muscle mass and increased non‐heme iron and ferritin heavy chain levels. Despite iron accumulation, transferrin receptor 1 and iron regulatory protein 2 were paradoxically upregulated. Lipid peroxidation was elevated without compensatory antioxidant responses.

Small RNA pathways in mammalian oocytes
Three distinct small RNA pathways operate in mammalian oocytes: RNAi interference (RNAi), the microRNA (miRNA) pathway, and the PIWI‐associated RNA (piRNA) pathway. These pathways use small RNAs to guide sequence‐specific repression and contribute to oocyte biology by targeting genes and mobile elements or appear insignificant since different ...

ABSTRACT Objective In multiple sclerosis, the optimal time for deploying a therapeutic intervention is before the central nervous system is damaged; given the success of trials treating the earliest stage of MS, the radiologically isolated syndrome, developing primary prevention strategies is an important next challenge.

ABSTRACT Objectives Retrograde trans‐synaptic degeneration (rTSD) from posterior visual pathway lesions in multiple sclerosis (MS) is characterized by hemi‐macular ganglion cell‐inner plexiform layer (GCIPL) thinning and contralateral visual field loss.

ABSTRACT Objective To explore how cerebral hypoxia and Normal‐Appearing White Matter (NAWM) integrity affect MS lesion burden and clinical course. Methods Seventy‐nine MS patients, including 13 clinically isolated syndrome (CIS) patients and 66 relapsing–remitting multiple sclerosis (RRMS) patients, and 44 healthy controls (HCs) were recruited from ...
