Diversity-Multiplexing Tradeoffs in MIMO Relay Channels

open access: yes, 2008
A multi-hop relay channel with multiple antenna terminals in a quasi-static slow fading environment is considered. For both full-duplex and half-duplex relays the fundamental diversity-multiplexing tradeoff (DMT) is analyzed.

Beyond Traceability: Leveraging Opportunities and Innovation in Chain of Custody Standards for the Mining Industry

open access: yesMining
Organisations are increasingly adopting the Chain of Custody (CoC) standards in the mining industry to enhance the traceability of minerals. It ensures that the minerals they have received are from credible sources and accompanied by verifiable ...

Progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy as a complication of disease-modifying treatment of multiple sclerosis

open access: yesАнналы клинической и экспериментальной неврологии, 2018
The review provides modern understanding of the pathogenesis of progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy (PML), a severe and potentially fatal form of multiple-lesion disorder of the brain white matter.

Diversity-Multiplexing Tradeoff in the Low-SNR Regime [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
An extension of the popular diversity-multiplexing tradeoff framework to the low-SNR (or wideband) regime is proposed. The concept of diversity gain is shown to be redundant in this regime since the outage probability is SNR-independent and depends on ...

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

A New Method for the Estimation of Hydraulic Permeability, Coefficient of Consolidation, and Soil Fraction Based on the Dilatometer Tests (DMT)

open access: yesStudia Geotechnica et Mechanica, 2019
The main issue of the paper is the estimation of soil hydraulic permeability based on the DMT test. DMTA, DMTC and SASK methods performed in the Nielisz dam, Stegny and the SGGW Campus of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences sites are described.

DMT Optimality of LR-Aided Linear Decoders for a General Class of Channels, Lattice Designs, and System Models

open access: yes, 2009
The work identifies the first general, explicit, and non-random MIMO encoder-decoder structures that guarantee optimality with respect to the diversity-multiplexing tradeoff (DMT), without employing a computationally expensive maximum-likelihood (ML ...

Quantum dynamics of thermalizing systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
We introduce a method "DMT" for approximating density operators of 1D systems that, when combined with a standard framework for time evolution (TEBD), makes possible simulation of the dynamics of strongly thermalizing systems to arbitrary times.

Iron homeostasis disruption and lipid peroxidation in skeletal muscle during short‐term immobilization

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
14‐day casting‐induced immobilization reduced gastrocnemius muscle mass and increased non‐heme iron and ferritin heavy chain levels. Despite iron accumulation, transferrin receptor 1 and iron regulatory protein 2 were paradoxically upregulated. Lipid peroxidation was elevated without compensatory antioxidant responses.
