Complementary DNA-DNA hybridization in Drosophila

Journal of Molecular Evolution, 1992
We have performed DNA-DNA hybridization experiments among several species of Drosophila using the evolutionarily conserved portion of the genome representing sequences coding for amino acids of proteins. This was done by using as tracer, radioactively labeled complementary DNA that was reverse transcribed from adult mRNA.

Interaction of complementary RNA and DNA

Journal of Molecular Biology, 1964
Double-strand formation occurs with high molecular weight DNA embedded in agar on incubation with either messenger RNA or sheared, denatured DNA. Both the DNA in the agar and the DNA fragments must be previously denatured for reaction to occur. The fraction of the total RNA in E. coli represented by the messenger type is about 1·3%.

Complementary strands of CELO virus DNA

Journal of Virology, 1975
When alkali-denatured DNA from CELO virus (an avian adenovirus) was annealed for 15 min at 37 C in 0.1 M NaCl, 70% of the molecules formed single-stranded circles. This is probably due to base pairing of complementary sequences not more than 110 nucleotides long at the ends of the single strands and implies an inverted terminal repetition in the duplex

Human Lipoprotein Lipase Complementary DNA Sequence

Science, 1987
Lipoprotein lipase is a key enzyme of lipid metabolism that acts to hydrolyze triglycerides, providing free fatty acids for cells and affecting the maturation of circulating lipoproteins. It has been proposed that the enzyme plays a role in the development of obesity and atherosclerosis.

A Drosophila Complementary DNA Resource

Science, 2000
Collections of nonredundant, full-length complementary DNA (cDNA) clones for each of the model organisms and humans will be important resources for studies of gene structure and function. We describe a general strategy for producing such collections and its implementation, which so far has generated a set of cDNAs corresponding to over 40%

“DNA-Dressed NAnopore” for complementary sequence detection

Biosensors and Bioelectronics, 2011
Single molecule electrical sensing with nanopores is a rapidly developing field with potential revolutionary effects on bioanalytics and diagnostics. The recent success of this technology is in the simplicity of its working principle, which exploits the conductance modulations induced by the electrophoretic translocation of molecules through a ...

Complementary DNA Libraries: An Overview

Molecular Biotechnology, 2003
The generation of complete and full-length cDNA libraries for potential functional assays of specific gene sequences is essential for most molecules in biotechnology and biomedical research. The field of cDNA library generation has changed rapidly in the past 10 yr.

Development of a murine hematopoietic progenitor complementary DNA microarray using a subtracted complementary DNA library

Blood, 2002
AbstractWith the goal of creating a resource for in-depth study of myelopoiesis, we have executed a 2-pronged strategy to obtain a complementary DNA (cDNA) clone set enriched in hematopoietic genes. One aspect is a library subtraction to enrich for underrepresented transcripts present at early stages of hematopoiesis.
