On the tertiary structure of satellite DNA

Biochimie, 1992
The primary structure of the Citrus ichangensis satellite DNA repeating unit has been estimated. The repeat is 181 bp long and contains four pentanucleotides of adenine residues. Oligomer forms of the stDNA repeating unit were detected by a partial hydrolysis of the C ichangensis stDNA by BspI restriction endonuclease.

Autoradiographic studies of the replication of satellite DNA in the Kangaroo rat. Autoradiographs of satellite DNA

Journal of Molecular Biology, 1974
Abstract Cells of the Kangaroo rat Dipidomys ordii contain large quantities of satellite DNA (Bostock et al ., 1972). Radioactive DNA from such cells has been examined by autoradiography. After a long period of radioactive labeling, long tandem arrays of short radioactive pieces are suddenly observed which are attributed to the replication of ...

Mutation and Recombination in Cattle Satellite DNA: A Feedback Model for the Evolution of Satellite DNA Repeats

Journal of Molecular Evolution, 2001
The cattle genome contains several distinct centromeric satellites with interrelated evolutionary histories. We compared these satellites in Bovini species that diverged 0.2 to about 5 Myr ago. Quantification of hybridization signals by phosphor imaging revealed a large variation in the relative amounts of the major satellites.

Related satellite DNA's in the genusMus

Journal of Molecular Biology, 1972
Abstract Several Thailand species from the genus Mus have been shown to contain satellite DNA's able to cross-reassociate with the Mus musculus satellite. One species, Mus caroli , contains at least three discrete but related light satellite DNA's.
