Adhesion molecules in the maternal–fetal interface in healthy pregnancies and preeclampsia
This study revealed elevated levels of adhesion molecules in the maternal circulation and reduced levels in the fetal circulation in preeclampsia. The findings suggest systemic maternal endothelial dysfunction in preeclampsia. Lower fetal adhesion molecule levels warrant further study.
