COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

The extreme C terminus of herpes simplex virus DNA polymerase is crucial for functional interaction with processivity factor UL42 and for viral replication

open access: yes, 1993
The herpes simplex virus DNA polymerase is composed of two subunits, a large catalytic subunit (Pol) and a smaller subunit (UL42) that increases the processivity of the holoenzyme.

Comparison of Different DNA Isolation Methods from Grapevine (Vitis vinifera) Leaves

open access: yesSeparations
The extraction of high-quality DNA is essential for molecular analyses in grapevine, yet differences among commonly used protocols remain underexplored.

Rapid Isolation of PCR-Ready DNA from Blood, Bone Marrow and Cultured Cells, Based on Paramagnetic Beads

open access: yesBioTechniques, 1997
PCR-based methods for the analysis of genomic DNA are becoming increasingly common both in research and for routine purposes. A rapid, small-scale DNA isolation method is needed to take full advantage of the speed and automation potential of the PCR ...

Pre‐analytical optimization of cell‐free DNA and extracellular vesicle‐derived DNA for mutation detection in liquid biopsies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.

Application of genetic and evolutionary approaches in marine conservation and management (Case study: PANGAS project)

open access: yesScientific Annals of the Danube Delta Institute, 2016
Contemporary studies of population structure and genetic diersity increasingly employ new analytical and technical tools that proide high-resolution genetic information. These tools, that include procedures such as polymerase chain reaction amplification

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Genome-Wide Mapping of DNA Methylation 5mC by Methylated DNA Immunoprecipitation (MeDIP)-Sequencing

open access: yes, 2020
Methylated DNA immunoprecipitation is a large scale purification technique. It enables the isolation of methylated DNA fragments for subsequent locus-specific or genome-wide analysis.
