Characterization of Lysosomal Hydrolases and Transporters and Their Age‐Dependent Variability: Relevance to Drug Metabolism and Transport of Small Molecule and Biologic Drugs

Lysosomes play a key role in the accumulation, catabolism, and transport of endogenous and exogenous metabolites and proteins and are involved in drug metabolism and prodrug activation. However, the protein abundance and interindividual variability of lysosomal drug‐metabolizing enzymes and transporters (DMETs) remain underexplored.

Segmental Hair Analysis of Diphenhydramine and Cyclizine Following a Single Dose

Drug Testing and Analysis, EarlyView.
A single oral dose of diphenhydramine and cyclizine can be quantified in human head hair for a minimum of 5 months and, in certain cases, for up to 1 year following intake. Among 12 study participants, the measured concentrations ranged from 0 to 610 pg/mg within 1 year post‐intake.

In Vitro Metabolism of Δ8‐, Δ9‐, and Δ10‐THC in Human Hepatocytes: Distinct Δ10‐THC Biotransformation and Implications for Drug Testing

Drug Testing and Analysis, EarlyView.
Δ8‐THC and Δ9‐THC showed comparable metabolic profiles. In contrast, Δ10‐THC underwent extensive glucuronidation and hydroxylation, with only minor formation of a carboxy metabolite, indicating a markedly different metabolic pathway. These differences may increase the risk of misidentification and misinterpretation in cannabis drug testing.
