Bootstrapping domain-specific meta-languages in language workbenches [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the 2016 ACM SIGPLAN International Conference on Generative Programming: Concepts and Experiences, 2016
It is common practice to bootstrap compilers of programming languages. By using the compiled language to implement the compiler, compiler developers can code in their own high-level language and gain a large-scale test case. In this paper, we investigate bootstrapping of compiler-compilers as they occur in language workbenches.

Cognitive Functioning in Vorinostat‐Treated Pediatric and Young Adult Patients Over the First 180 Days After Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose Cognitive and psychological difficulties could negatively interfere with treatment adherence and quality of life before and after hematopoietic stem cell transplant (HSCT). Methods to mitigate these changes may have positive effects on treatment success.

Time coordination of heterogeneous distance protections using a domain specific language [PDF]

open access: yese-Informatica Software Engineering Journal, 2012
BACKGROUND: Distance protections are widely used in protection of energy transmission lines, but their time coordination is still an important and difficult problem.

The ATIS sign language corpus [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Systems that automatically process sign language rely on appropriate data. We therefore present the ATIS sign language corpus that is based on the domain of air travel information. It is available for five languages, English, German, Irish sign language,

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Usability Evaluation of Domain-Specific Languages [PDF]

open access: yes2012 Eighth International Conference on the Quality of Information and Communications Technology, 2012
The adoption of Domain-Specific Languages (DSLs) is regarded as an approach to reduce the accidental complexity of software systems development. The availability of sophisticated language workbenches facilitates the development of DSLs making them increasingly more popular.

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Unsupervised Keyword Extraction from Polish Legal Texts

open access: yes, 2014
In this work, we present an application of the recently proposed unsupervised keyword extraction algorithm RAKE to a corpus of Polish legal texts from the field of public procurement. RAKE is essentially a language and domain independent method. Its only

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...
