DeepMapper: Attention‐Based AutoEncoder for System Identification in Wound Healing and Stage Prediction

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
The authors develop a deep learning model for real‐time tracking of wound progression. The deep learning framework maps the nonlinear evolution of a time series of images to a latent space, where they learn a linear representation of the dynamics. The linear model is interpretable and suitable for applications in feedback control.

The Role of the Robot Mass and Velocity in Physical Human-Robot Interaction - Part II: Constrained Blunt Impacts

open access: yes, 2008
Accidents occurring with classical industrial robots often lead to fatal injuries. Presumably, this is to a great extent caused by the possibility of clamping the human in the confined workspace of the robot.

Talk to Your Data: An Agentic Artificial Intelligence‐Driven Decision‐Support Framework for Prosumer Energy Optimization and Recommendations

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
An agentic AI‐driven decision‐support framework for prosumers is proposed, integrating PV generation, load profiling, and multihorizon optimization within a four‐agent architecture. The approach significantly reduces grid dependence, enhances self‐sufficiency and prevents system oversizing.

Discussion on different controllers used for the navigation of mobile robot [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electronics and Telecommunications
Robots that can comprehend and navigate their surroundings independently on their own are considered intelligent mobile robots (MR). Using a sophisticated set of controllers, artificial intelligence (AI), deep learning (DL), machine learning (ML ...

A holistic understanding of older adults' acceptance of domestic robots [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
The aging population is growing and as people age declines in their ability to perform everyday living activities can interfere with an older adult’s ability to age in place. Aging in place can allow older adults to keep their independence.

The Open‐Source Paradox: Africa's Digital Sovereignty and the Structural Limits of Artificial Intelligence Autonomy

open access: yesAI &Innovation, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Open‐source artificial intelligence is widely promoted as a democratising pathway to digital sovereignty for African states, offering access to frontier architectures without prohibitive capital investment. This paper investigates whether open‐source AI represents a credible route to autonomy or generates a new form of structural dependency ...

Using photovoice to understand community perceptions of firearm risks and protective factors among Asian Americans

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Community Psychology, EarlyView.
Abstract This study used photovoice methodology to explore Asian Americans' perspectives on the root causes and protective factors of firearm violence in their communities. Photovoice provided a participatory platform for community members to document lived experiences and identify priorities for change.
