Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Transcriptome analysis of ovarian tissues highlights genes controlling energy homeostasis and oxidative stress as potential drivers of heterosis for egg number and clutch size in crossbred laying hens

open access: yesPoultry Science
: Heterosis is the major benefit of crossbreeding and has been exploited in laying hens breeding for a long time. This genetic phenomenon has been linked to various modes of nonadditive gene action.

Effects of θ High Definition-Transcranial Alternating Current Stimulation in the Anterior Cingulate Cortex on the Dominance of Attention Focus in Standing Postural Control

open access: yesBehavioral Sciences, 2023
Attention focus affects performance in postural control while standing, and it is divided into internal focus (IF) and external focus (EF). Each individual has a predominant attention focus, and research has revealed that the dominance of attention focus

Linking neurogenesis, oligodendrogenesis, and myelination defects to neurodevelopmental disruption in primary mitochondrial disorders

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial remodeling shapes neural and glial lineage progression by matching metabolic supply with demand. Elevated OXPHOS supports differentiation and myelin formation, while myelin compaction lowers mitochondrial dependence, revealing mitochondria as key drivers of developmental energy adaptation.

Ranking Multi-Metric Scientific Achievements Using a Concept of Pareto Optimality

open access: yesMathematics, 2020
The ranking of multi-metric scientific achievements is a challenging task. For example, the scientific ranking of researchers utilizes two major types of indicators; namely, number of publications and citations.

On domination and independent domination numbers of a graph

open access: yesDiscrete Mathematics, 1978
AbstractFor a graph G, the definitions of domination number, denoted γ(G), and independent domination number, denoted i(G), are given, and the following results are obtained:Theorem. If G does not have an induced subgraph isomorphic to K1,3, then γ(G) = i(G).Corollary 1. For any graph G, γ(L(G))=i(L(G)), where L(G) is the line graph of G. (This extends

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

Applying abundance/biomass comparison curves to small mammals: a weak tool for detect urbanization-related stress in the assemblages?

open access: yesFolia Oecologica, 2020
Urbanization is a form of pervasive human-induced disturbance. We tested the effectiveness of Abundance/Biomass Comparisons (ABC) as an approach in detecting stress due to landscape urbanization in large small mammal assemblages obtained from pellets of ...
