Donation after circulatory death
With the advent of organ transplantation, patients suffering from end-stage organ failure no longer face inevitable death or a lifetime of complex medical care and those receiving a transplanted organ can often return to a normal lifestyle. As a result of this success, coupled with an ageing population, there are increasing numbers of patients seeking ...

Family bereavement: A case study of controlled organ donation after circulatory death [PDF]
Deceased organ donation represents a major source of organs for human transplantation practice. In the United Kingdom as well as other parts of the world, donation after circulatory death accounts for a proportion of all deceased organ donors.

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Donation after Circulatory Death Liver Transplantation in Paediatric Recipients
Waiting list mortality together, with limited availability of organs, are one of the major challenges in liver transplantation (LT). Especially in the paediatric population, another limiting factor is the scarcity of transplantable liver grafts due to ...

Epigenetic reprogramming of lineage switching in cancer
Cancer cells rarely commit to a single identity. Epigenetic mechanisms and tumor microenvironment cues push epithelial cells toward flexible, hybrid states that can shift into mesenchymal, neuroendocrine, or stem‐like fates, driving metastasis, drug resistance, and tumor heterogeneity. Targeting the epigenetic regulators behind these transitions, using
