Fibronectin1‐Expressing Subicular Circuits Selectively Govern the Retrieval of Novel Object Recognition

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Fibronectin 1 (FN1)‐expressing subicular subpopulations encode novel object preference and selectively govern retrieval of novel object recognition (NOR) via affecting excitability of entorhinal‐projecting circuit through large conductance Ca2+‐activated potassium (BK) channel. ABSTRACT Novel object recognition (NOR), referring to the cognitive ability

Protein Disulfide Isomerase Disassembles TDP‐43/G3BP1 Condensates and Antagonizes TDP‐43 Pathological Aggregates

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Cytoplasmic aggregation of TDP‐43 is a common pathological feature in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, frontotemporal lobar degeneration, and Alzheimer's disease with TDP‐43 pathology. This study reports that wild‐type PDI slows down phase separation of TDP‐43 through direct interaction with TDP‐43.

Data-Independent Acquisition Method for In-Depth Proteomic Screening of Donkey Meat

open access: yesAgriculture
Donkey meat has gained popularity as an emerging meat product due to its superior nutritional value and distinctive flavor. Despite this, research on the molecular mechanisms that contribute to meat quality, particularly within the field of proteomics ...

Set theory ontology as an approach to gaming’s composite form [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
This paper will explore the possibilities that mathematical set theory has to offer the scholarly study of videogames. Videogames are highly heterogeneous objects of study, comprising what Linderoth (2015) has called a ‘composite form’: complex ...

Activation of ERBB4 Pathway Inhibits Pathological Transdifferentiation of Lung Epithelial Progenitors into CD66c+ Basal Cells in Severe Lung Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In fibrotic distal lung regions, CD66c+ basal cells emerge as a pathological state. Using human distal lung organoids, this study identifies CD66c+ basal cells as a pro‐fibrotic state arising through transdifferentiation from secretory, AT2, and basal cells.

Is there sufficient evidence to support the health benefits of including donkey milk in the diet?

open access: yesFrontiers in Nutrition
Donkey milk has attracted attention due to its distinctive nutritional composition and potential health advantages, particularly because of its whey protein content, which includes lysozyme, α-lactalbumin, lactoferrin, and β-lactoglobulin and vitamin C ...

Proton FLASH Exposure Preserves Gut Commensal Microbiomes and Spares Intestinal Stem Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 31, 4 June 2026.
This study highlights the role of Proton FLASH abdominal irradiation in sparing of intestinal stem cells and preservation of key gut microbial population resulting minimization of radiation toxicity in intestinal epithelium in mice. Our findings support the potential of Proton FLASH to improve the therapeutic ratio for abdominal radiation exposure ...

Nigra‐Subthalamic Dopaminergic Circuitry Modulates and Represents Distinct Pain Modality in Physiological and Pain States in Mice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Nigral dopaminergic (DA) neurons modulate and represent pain with a preference to a particular modality (mechanical) and laterality (contralateral), which are controlled by nigral GABAergic neurons. The pain modulation is mimicked by the nigro‐subthalamic projection and its downstream neurons, involving D2‐like receptors.

Endothelial GPR68 Is Essential for Arteriogenesis and Represents a Therapeutic Target in a Model of Peripheral Artery Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 31, 4 June 2026.
Endothelial GPR68 is identified as a critical regulator of collateral artery growth in peripheral artery disease. Genetic and pharmacological evidence demonstrates that GPR68 integrates hemodynamic cues to drive monocyte recruitment and inflammatory remodeling, thereby promoting collateral arteriogenesis and tissue perfusion after ischemia ...
