Forecasting Airport Passenger Flows Using Mobile Network Data: Insights for Sustainable Mobility and Strategic Infrastructure Planning

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Airports are strategic and environmental nodes in global transport systems where rapid passenger growth challenges capacity, sustainability, and resilience. This study uses anonymized mobile network data to analyze and forecast passenger dynamics at Lisbon Airport, Portugal, linking data‐driven insights to sustainable mobility and ...

EventFlow: Real‐time neuromorphic event‐driven classification of two‐phase boiling flow regimes

open access: yesDroplet, EarlyView.
We present a real‐time flow regime classification framework that integrates neuromorphic event‐driven sensing with deep recurrent neural networks. Unlike traditional frame‐based approaches, our system captures sparse event streams from an event‐based camera, representing only the dynamic brightness changes at the individual pixel level.

Governing Positive Energy Districts: The Role of Legitimation and Identity Across Residential and Industrial Contexts

open access: yesEnvironmental Policy and Governance, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Increasing electricity demand from data centres, industrial applications, electric vehicles and domestic heating is creating pressure to develop electricity systems in many parts of the world, but especially in Western countries. In response to challenges such as grid congestion, interconnection queues and climate‐related hazards, network ...

The continuity heuristic: Temporal extrapolation in consumer judgment

open access: yesJournal of Consumer Psychology, EarlyView.
Abstract From choosing an established brand over a newcomer to deciding when to replace a product or commit to a subscription, consumers routinely make judgments about how much longer things will last. Across 24 studies (N = 9718), this research introduces and tests the continuity heuristic, an intuitive forecasting strategy in which consumers use how ...

Perceived Educational Value of a Self‐Developed 3D‐Printed Pediatric Dentistry Simulator

open access: yesJournal of Dental Education, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose To design and assess a 3D‐printed pediatric dentistry simulator and to evaluate its perceived educational value and realism through student and expert feedback. Methods A maxillary simulator that is mountable on phantom heads was developed and produced by desktop stereolithography with single‐use inserts, enabling proximal caries ...

Agentic Artificial Intelligence in Medical Imaging Education: Architectural Autonomy and the Risk of Cognitive Surrender

open access: yesJournal of Medical Radiation Sciences, EarlyView.
Agentic AI systems embedded within imaging workflows may alter reflective reasoning by reshaping when and how verification occurs. This Perspective proposes a Tri‐System framework and argues for educational recalibration to preserve diagnostic complementarity, calibrated trust, and accountable human supervision within architecturally integrated ...

Real-Time Double-Ended Queue Verified (Proof Pearl).

open access: yes, 2023
We present the first verification of the real-time doubled-ended queue by Chuang and Goldberg where all operations take constant time. The main contributions are the full system invariant, the precise definition of all abstraction functions, the structure of the proof and the main lemmas.

Improving Affordability and Accessibility for Socially‐Beneficial Services via Government Incentives

open access: yesNaval Research Logistics (NRL), EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Many socially‐beneficial services, like dental care, suffer from a dual challenge: Low affordability for citizens and long waiting times due to insufficient provider capacity. We model a government's problem of designing subsidy policies to address this issue.

Information Design for Early‐Stage Dose‐Finding Trials

open access: yesNaval Research Logistics (NRL), EarlyView.
ABSTRACT To enhance enrollment rates in early‐stage dose‐finding clinical trials, we propose an information design approach, where the clinical investigator (CI) commits to an information releasing mechanism (IRM) based on the treatment's uncertain efficacy and toxicity to encourage patients to participate in the trial.
