Nanostructured 316L Stainless Steel Stent Surfaces Improve Corrosion Resistance, and Enhance Endothelization and Hemocompatibility

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
This study investigates the impact of nanostructured surface modification on corrosion resistance, HUVEC functions, and platelet interactions of 316L SS for cardiovascular stents. Nanostructured surfaces enhanced HUVEC proliferation, migration, and angiogenesis‐related gene expression while reducing platelet adhesion and hemolysis.

A Comparative Review of RNA Language Models [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Given usefulness of protein language models (LMs) in structure and functional inference, RNA LMs have received increased attentions in the last few years. However, these RNA models are often not compared against the same standard. Here, we divided RNA LMs into three classes (pretrained on multiple RNA types (especially noncoding RNAs), specific-purpose

Investigating the Mechanism of Ion Concentration Polarization Within Nanofluidic Hydrogel Membranes: Experiment and Simulation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Molecular dynamics simulations are employed to model ion concentration polarization (ICP) at the nanoscale, revealing fundamental electrokinetic behaviors that align with experimental observations. The study demonstrates how membrane charge, ionic strength, and electric fields affect ion localization and biomolecule trapping, providing mechanistic ...

Implantable Microarray Patch: Engineering at the Nano and Macro Scale for Sustained Therapeutic Release via Synthetic Biodegradable Polymers

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, Volume 10, Issue 6, March 18, 2025.
This review focuses on the application of synthetic biodegradable microarray patches (MAPs) in sustained drug delivery. Compared to conventional MAPs which release drugs into the skin in an immediate manner, these implantable MAPs release drugs into skin microcirculation gradually as the biodegradable polymers degrade, thus offering sustained release ...
