Amino Acid-Pillared Layered Double Hydroxide and Montmorillonite Thermal Characteristics [PDF]
Zn-Al hydrotalcite (HT) and Na-montmorillonite (Na-mont) were pillared by the deprotonated and the protonated forms of L-tyrosine, respectively. Pillaring was successful as the increased basal spacings due to intercalation attest. L-Tyr-HT proved to be thermally less stabile than HT, while that of L-Tyr-mont did not change compared to Na-mont.

Double amino acid – A novel molecule enabling peptide interpenetrating structures
Chemical Physics Letters, 2014Peptide chains might be linked with one another using various external bifunctional molecules. We postulate an existence of a novel molecule termed ‘double amino acid’ containing four functional groups connected to one C atom ((NH2)2C(COOH)2). Using correlated ab initio approach (QCISD and MP2 methods) we provide its structure, simulated IR spectrum ...

Study of double and triple simultaneous substitutions of amino acids in cytochromes C
Journal of Molecular Evolution, 1975A statistical analysis aimed at obtaining some informations on a possible correlation between simultaneous amino acid substitutions is proposed. This method is applied to a set of cytochrome C, at the level of tandem and triple substitutions separated along the peptide chain by 1 to 15 peptide bonds.

Direct Intercalation of Amino Acids into Layered Double Hydroxides by Coprecipitation
Journal of Solid State Chemistry, 2001Abstract First, the direct intercalation of amino acids into various layered double hydroxides (Mg–Al, Mn–Al, Ni–Al, Zn–Al, and Zn–Cr LDHs) by coprecipitation has been investigated using phenylalanine (Phe) as a guest amino acid. The degree of Phe coprecipitation was strongly influenced by the solution pH and kind of LDH system and reached a maximum ...

Immobilized Double-Racemase Hydantoinase Process for L-Amino Acid Production
2021Protein immobilization is proving to be an environmentally friendly strategy for manufacturing biochemicals at high yields and low production costs. This work describes the optimization of the so-called “double-racemase hydantoinase process,” a system of four enzymes used to produce optically pure L-amino acids from a racemic mixture of hydantoins ...

Preparation and Characterization of Hybrid Organic−Inorganic Composite Materials Using the Amphoteric Property of Amino Acids: Amino Acid Intercalated Layered Double Hydroxide and Montmorillonite [PDF]
Deprotonated and protonated forms of L-tyrosine or L-phenylalanine were intercalated by Zn-Al hydrotalcite (HT) and Na-montmorillonite (Na-mont), respectively. The intercalated materials were characterized by powder X-ray diffraction, BET measurements, and FT-IR spectroscopy. Intercalation was successful as the increased basal spacings attested.

A new double-labelling procedure for amino acid analysis which requires only routine chromatographic equipment is described. When 1-fluoro-2,4-dinitro[3H]benzene is reacted with a mixture of 14C-labelled amino acids followed by reaction with the same 14C-labelled amino acid mixture diluted with an unlabelled sample of amino acids, the 3H: 14C ratio in

Delamination of Layered Double Hydroxides Containing Amino Acids
Chemistry of Materials, 2004Various amino acids were intercalated into Mg−Al layered double hydroxides (LDHs) as interlayer anions. The goal of this approach was to create an interlayer environment that was attractive to formamide, because of hydrogen bonding, so that penetration of formamide would lead to delamination.

Amino acid functionalization of double-wall carbon nanotubes studied by Raman spectroscopy
Chemical Communications, 2007Double-wall carbon nanotubes (DWNT) have been functionalized with lysine after a strong oxidation with MnO4- in acid solution which, as suggested by the Raman spectra, attacked the external nanotube of the DWNT.

Abstract– We have determined the incorporation of [3H]‐, [1‐14C]‐ and [2‐14C]acetate into glutamate, glutamine and aspartate of the adult mouse brain. All these three acetates were incorporated more extensively into glutamine than into glutamate. This has been reported by several authors for each of these labelled acetates in separate experiments.
