A right handed peptide helix containing a central double d-amino acid segment
Chemical Communications, 2002The crystal structure of the 13 residue peptide Boc-Leu-Aib-Val-Ala-Leu-Aib-Val-DAla-DLeu-Aib-Leu-Aib-Val-OMe reveals a continuous helical conformation providing an unambiguous characterization of contiguous D-residues in a right handed peptide helix.

Abstract A double-labeling procedure for amino acid analysis using 3 H-labeled 1-fluoro-2,4-dinitrobenzene and 14 C-labeled amino acids as internal standards is described. The procedure was tested by analyzing lysozyme and insulin B chain, and the results obtained were in good agreement with their accepted amino acid compositions.
