Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Facial Expression Recognition From Image Sequence Based on LBP and Taylor Expansion

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2017
The aim of an automatic video-based facial expression recognition system is to detect and classify human facial expressions from image sequence. An integrated automatic system often involves two components: 1) peak expression frame detection and 2 ...

I_2-Lacunary statistical convergence of double sequences of sets

open access: yes, 2016
In this paper, we introduce the concepts of the Wijsman I2-statistical convergence, Wijsman I2-lacunary statistical convergence and Wijsman strongly I2-lacunary convergence of double sequences of sets and investigate the relationship between them.

Hippo pathway at the crossroads of stemness and therapeutic resistance in breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dysregulation of the Hippo pathway drives nuclear accumulation of YAP/TAZ, activating stemness‐related transcriptional programs that sustain breast cancer stemness and fuel therapeutic resistance across subtypes, underscoring Hippo signaling as a targetable vulnerability. Figure created and edited with BioRender.com.

WIJSMAN I2-INVARIANT CONVERGENCE OF DOUBLE SEQUENCES OF SETS

open access: yes, 2019
In this paper, we study the concepts of Wijsman invariant convergence, Wijsman invariant statistical convergence, Wijsman I-2-invariant convergence (I-W2(sigma)), Wijsman I*(2)-invariant convergence (I*(sigma)(W2)), Wijsman p-strongly invariant convergence ([W2V sigma](p)) of double sequence of sets and investigate the relationships among Wijsman ...

KDM7A and KDM1A inhibition suppresses tumour promoting pathways in prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Treatment resistance is a major challenge for patients with advanced prostate cancer. This study examined an alternative approach to target the major prostate cancer‐promoting pathway by targeting epigenetic factors, whose levels are higher in tumours.

Comparative Analysis of 500 kV Double-Circuit Transmission Line Electric Field Intensity: Ethiopian Lines Compliance With ICNIRP

open access: yesIEEE Access
The high-intensity electric fields, which are in the vicinity of power transmission lines, have adverse effects on human and other living beings if they are not within the specified limits.

Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.
