Exergy analysis of double slope passive solar still

open access: yesIOP Conference Series: Materials Science and Engineering, 2020
Abstract Solar still is processes that can be used to convert available water into clean water. To find out whether the exergy used in the evaporation process has been used optimally in terms of quality, the second law of thermodynamics is used or known as exergy analysis.

Elimination of Double‐Slope Nonideality in C60 Field Effect Transistors

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials
Double‐slope nonideality, widely observed in organic field‐effect transistors (OFETs), leads to inaccurate extraction of field‐effect mobility, hindering the evaluation of new organic semiconductors and limiting OFET applications.

Hijacking emergency granulopoiesis: Neutrophil ontogeny and reprogramming in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Neutrophils are highly plastic innate immune cells; their functions in cancer extend beyond the tumour microenvironment. This Review summarises current understanding of neutrophil maturation and heterogeneity and highlights tumour‐induced granulopoiesis as a systemic programme that expands immature, immunosuppressive neutrophils via tumour‐derived ...

Influence of Bernoulli′s Speed-reduced Oil Cavities on the Friction Characteristics of Hydrostatic Bearings

open access: yesJournal of Harbin University of Science and Technology
In order to solve the problem of insufficient bearing capacity of hydrostatic thrust bearings at high speed, a pendulum shaped oil lifting structure is added in the double rectangular oil cavity and this paper takes the slope-shaped and the ordinary ...

Study of total variation diminishing (TVD) slope limiters in dam-break flow simulation

open access: yesWater Science and Engineering, 2018
A two-dimensional (2D) dam-break flow numerical model was developed based on the finite-volume total variation diminishing (TVD) and monotone upstream-centered scheme for conservation laws (MUSCL)-Hancock scheme, which has second-order accuracy in both ...

Finding novel vulnerabilities of hypomorphic BRCA1 alleles

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Synthetic lethality screens performed to identify novel vulnerabilities often model complete gene loss, thereby overlooking patient‐derived hypomorphic mutations. In this study, we have performed genome‐wide CRISPR screens on BRCA1 hypomorphic mutations, showing BRCA1I26A behaves like wild‐type, while BRCA1R1699Q mimics deficiency. Furthermore, we have

A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Technologies of excavation compensation control for multiple disasters in deeply buried tunnels under complex geology & engineering applications

open access: yesInternational Journal of Coal Science & Technology
Tunnel engineering is confronted with various challenges including soft rock deformation, rock bursts, water-abundant faults, heat-induced damage, and tunnel portal slope instability arising from complex geological conditions, which renders traditional ...

Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.
