Localized Fermions on Domain Walls and Extended Supersymmetric Quantum Mechanics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
We study fermionic fields localized on topologically unstable domain walls bounded by strings in a grand unified theory theoretical framework. Particularly, we found that the localized fermionic degrees of freedom, which are up and down quarks as long as

Algebra endomorphisms and derivations of some localized down-up algebras [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Algebra and Its Applications, 2014
We study algebra endomorphisms and derivations of some localized down-up algebras A𝕊(r + s, -rs). First, we determine all the algebra endomorphisms of A𝕊(r + s, -rs) under some conditions on r and s. We show that each algebra endomorphism of A𝕊(r + s, -rs) is an algebra automorphism if rmsn = 1 implies m = n = 0.

Down-up algebras and chromatic symmetric functions

open access: yes, 2022
We establish Guay-Paquet's unpublished linear relation between certain chromatic symmetric functions by relating his algebra on paths to the $q$-Klyachko algebra. The coefficients in this relations are $q$-hit polynomials, and they come up naturally in our setup as connected remixed Eulerian numbers, in contrast to the computational approach of ...

Exact Solutions of the Morse-like Potential, Step-Up and Step-Down Operators via Laplace Transform Approach

open access: yes, 2012
We intend to realize the step-up and step-down operators of the potential $V(x)=V_{1}e^{2\beta x}+V_{2}e^{\beta x}$. It is found that these operators satisfy the commutation relations for the SU(2) group. We find the eigenfunctions and the eigenvalues of

A Thermodynamic 3D Model for the Simulation of Diffusion‐Controlled Alloying Processes in Heterogeneous Material Structures

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A numerical model resulting from irreversible thermodynamics for describing transport processes is introduced, focusing on thermodynamic activity gradients as the actual driving force for diffusion. Implemented in CUDA C++ and using CalPhaD methods for determining the necessary activity data, the model accurately simulates interdiffusion in aluminum ...

Localization and Flatness in Quantale Theory

open access: yesMathematics
The study of flat ring morphisms is an important theme in commutative algebra. The purpose of this article is to develop an abstract theory of flatness in the framework of coherent quantales.

The Goldman-Rota identity and the Grassmann scheme [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
We inductively construct an explicit (common) orthogonal eigenbasis for the elements of the Bose-Mesner algebra of the Grassmann scheme. The main step is a constructive, linear algebraic interpretation of the Goldman-Rota recurrence for the number of ...

Demonstration of an All‐Optical AND Gate Mediated by Photochromic Molecules

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A logic AND gate that runs on photons is demonstrated. It relies on two spatially separated photochromic molecules that work in tandem. Abstract The realization of a photonic logic AND gate, i.e. a logic AND gate that runs on photons rather than electrons, and where all steps are controlled by light, is demonstrated. In a proof‐of‐principle experiment,
