Governance for Pension Plans' Sustainable Transition: The Moderating Role of Corporate Social Identity

open access: yesCorporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Management, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Pension plans may either limit their sustainability approach to commercial purposes or adopt governance practices aligned with sustainability principles, thereby strengthening their Corporate Social Identity (CSI). This paper explores the moderating role of CSI in the relationship between traditional corporate governance mechanisms and pension

Cosmological simulations of black hole growth: AGN luminosities and downsizing

open access: yes, 2014
In this study, we present a detailed, statistical analysis of black hole growth and the evolution of active galactic nuclei (AGN) using cosmological hydrodynamic simulations run down to $z=0$.

A Study of High‐Emission Industries: How Policy, Strategy, and Technology Shape Corporate Social Responsibility Toward Carbon Neutrality

open access: yesCorporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Management, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The extant carbon neutrality (CN) literature largely offers macro‐ or meso‐level analyses, providing limited insights into implementation experiences that could inform granular policymaking and industry strategies. To address this gap, we examine the lived CN experiences of firms in the transportation, energy, manufacturing, and construction ...

Cobalt‐Free Single‐Crystal Cathodes for Next‐Generation Lithium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
Cobalt‐free single‐crystal cathodes enhance lithium‐ion battery stability by mitigating fracture, degradation, and phase transitions. This review highlights Ni‐rich layered, Li‐Mn‐rich, spinel, and olivine frameworks, synthesis strategies enabling morphology and defect control, and structural tuning via doping and coatings, offering pathways toward ...

Dual‐Functional Sulfonated Nanocellulose for Proton Exchange Membranes With High Proton Conductivity at Low Humidity

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
A scalable dual‐functional strategy yields simultaneously sulfonated and nanosized cellulose for proton exchange membranes with continuous hydrogen‐bond networks. These sustainable membranes exhibit low‐humidity proton conductivity twofold higher than Nafion 212, providing a robust solution for next‐generation fuel cells.

Housing Price Volatility and Downsizing in Later Life [PDF]

open access: yes
In this paper, we modeled several types of housing transitions of the elderly in two countries -- Britain and the United States. One important form of these transitions involves downsizing of housing consumption, the importance of which among older ...

Downsizing the labor force by low and high profit firms: an experimental analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
One may hope to capture the behavioral and emotional effects of downsizing the laborforce in rather abstract settings as an ultimatum game (see Fischer et al.

Unlocking the Potential of Carbon Nitride (CxNy) Electrocatalysts in Hydrogen Evolution, Oxygen Evolution and Overall Water Splitting

open access: yesExploration, EarlyView.
Electrocatalytic water splitting with carbon nitride (CxNy) materials has gained attention due to their synthesis, structure, and robust application. Among various CxNy types, g‐C3N4 is the most stable allotrope and extensively researched. This review explores recent advances in HER, OER, and OWS, focusing on defect engineering, structural engineering,

Capacity allocation and downsizing decisions in project portfolio management. [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper aims to gain insight into capacity allocation and downsizing decisions in project portfolio management. By downsizing, we mean reducing the scale or size of a project and thereby changing the project's content. We first determine the amount of
