Electrochemical redox behavior of 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl radical solubilized by β-cyclodextrin in water

open access: yesElectrochemistry Communications, 2022
2,2-Diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl radical (DPPH•) is a water-insoluble stable radical that has been used to evaluate the activity of antioxidants as a reactivity model of reactive oxygen species.

Antioxidant potential of extracts from different agro wastes: Stabilization of corn oil

open access: yesGrasas y Aceites, 2008
The antioxidant potential of 80% methanolic extracts of some agro wastes (pomegranate peel, apple peel, banana peel, citrus peel, corncob, wheat husk, wheat bran, rice bran, and rice hull) was assessed. The yields of the extracts varied over a wide range

Determination of DPPH Radical Oxidation Caused by Methanolic Extracts of Some Microalgal Species by Linear Regression Analysis of Spectrophotometric Measurements

open access: yesSensors, 2007
The demonstrated modified spectrophotometric method makes use of the 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical and its specific absorbance properties. Theabsorbance decreases when the radical is reduced by antioxidants.

Oxo-Carotenoids as Efficient Superoxide Radical Scavengers

open access: yesAntioxidants, 2022
Oxo-carotenoids containing conjugated carbonyl groups in their chains were designed to be more efficient superoxide radical scavengers than natural carotenoids, β-carotene and canthaxanthin.

DPPH Radical Scavenging Reaction of Hydroxy- and Methoxychalcones

open access: yesBioscience, Biotechnology, and Biochemistry, 2006
The DPPH radical scavenging activity of 2',4',6'-trihydroxy- and 2'-hydroxy-4',6'-dimethoxychalcones carrying a 2,3- and 3,4-dihydroxylated, and 3,4,5-trihydroxylated B-ring was evaluated in alcoholic and non-alcoholic solvents. All test compounds scavenged more than two equivalent of radicals by a possible conversion to the corresponding B-ring ...

INTERCALATION OF FREE RADICAL, DPPH, INTO MONTMORILLONITE

open access: yesAnalytical Sciences, 1991
The adosorption of DPPH in the interlayer of sodium montmorillonite and sodium saponite have been investigated by ESR. As the results, DPPH molecules dimerize to form diamagnetic species in montmorillonite, whereas DPPH molecules in saponite exist as isolated stable free radical species at room temperature.
