Coulomb drag in graphene: perturbation theory
We study the effect of Coulomb drag between two closely positioned graphene monolayers. In the limit of weak electron-electron interaction and small inter-layer spacing ($\mu_{1(2)}, T\ll v/d$) the drag is described by a universal function of the ...

DRAG COEFFICIENT OF VEGETATION IN FLOW MODELING [PDF]
Flow through vegetation has a significant impact on sediment transport and ecosystem robustness in the coastal and fluvial environment. Numerical models (Nepf and Vivoni, 2000; Uittenbogaaard, 2003) have been developed to simulate this type of flow. The success of these models depends on proper characterization of the main processes and appropriate ...

Surface Tension Measurement of Ti‐6Al‐4V by Falling Droplet Method in Oxygen‐Free Atmosphere
In this article, the temperature‐dependent surface tension of free falling, oscillating Ti‐6Al‐4V droplets is investigated in both argon and monosilane doped, oxygen‐free atmosphere. Droplet temperature and oscillation are captured with one single high‐speed camera, and the surface tension is calculated with Rayleigh's formula.

Satellite drag coefficients are crucial for determining the neutral mass densities that affect spacecraft operations in the thermosphere. Many studies typically utilize a constant drag coefficient of 2.2 to calculate the neutral density.

Numerical calculation of boundary layers and wake characteristics of high-speed trains with different lengths. [PDF]
Trains with different numbers of cars running in the open air were simulated using the delayed detached-eddy simulation (DDES). The numbers of cars included in the simulation are 3, 4, 5 and 8.

Can solar wind viscous drag account for CME deceleration?
The forces acting on solar Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs) in the interplanetary medium have been evaluated so far in terms of an empirical drag coefficient $C_{\rm D} \sim 1$ that quantifies the role of the aerodynamic drag experienced by a typical CME ...

Reprogrammable multi‐material smart textiles knitted from liquid crystal elastomer fibers undergo 2D and 3D deformation under thermal and photo stimuli. Circularly knitted tubular structures reversibly contract in radial and axial directions, enabling autonomous climbing, liquid release, and micro pumping.

Energy and momentum relaxation of heavy fermion in dense and warm plasma
We determine the drag and the momentum diffusion coefficients of heavy fermion in dense plasma. It is seen that in degenerate matter drag coefficient at the leading order mediated by transverse photon is proportional to $(E-\mu)^2$ while for the ...
