A novel DRBEM application for nonlinear wave propagation

International Journal for Numerical Methods in Biomedical Engineering, 2011
Summary: This paper presents a two-dimensional numerical procedure based on the boundary integral equations to model acoustic waves of finite-amplitude. The analysis is performed in the frequency domain. By applying the perturbation technique up to the second-order term, the governing differential equations are written as a system of two Helmholtz ...

Acceleration of Modal Analysis by FMM Based on DRBEM

Volume 1: 24th Conference on Mechanical Vibration and Noise, Parts A and B, 2012
This paper proposes a novel algorithm to accelerate the process of modal analysis in 3D elastodynamic problems in BEM (boundary element method) with high accuracy. Because of low efficiency and high cost, conventional BEM is rarely used for solving 3D elastodynamics problems in engineering problems.

DRBEM Solution of the Natural Convective Flow of Micropolar Fluids

Numerical Heat Transfer, Part A: Applications, 2010
The main purpose of this article is to present the use of the dual reciprocity boundary element method (DRBEM) in the analysis of the unsteady natural convective flow of micropolar fluids in a differentially heated rectangular cavity. The finite-difference method (FDM) is used for time discretization.

Transient dynamic analysis of dam‐reservoir interaction by coupling DRBEM and FEM

Engineering Computations, 2004
In this paper, time domain dynamic analysis of dam‐reservoir interaction is presented by coupling the dual reciprocity boundary element method in the infinite fluid domain and the finite element method in the solid domain. An efficient coupling procedure is formulated by using sub‐structuring method.

A DRBEM solution for incompressible viscous flows and heat transfer

30th Thermophysics Conference, 1995
The Dual Reciprocitv Boundam Element Method (DRBEM) is used.to solve incompressible laminar viscous fluid flows and heat transfer. The DRBEM is extended to develop a pressure correction scheme to solve the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations. The velocity field is then used as input to the DRBEM solution of the energy transport equation, thereby ...

DRBEM Simulation on Mixed Convection with Hydromagnetic Effect

2015
The steady and laminar mixed convection flow of a viscous, incompressible, and electrically conducting fluid under the effect of an inclined magnetic field is numerically investigated. Specifically, the two-dimensional flow in a lid-driven cavity with a linearly heated wall is considered. The dual reciprocity boundary element method is used for solving
