This study explores the feasibility of expressing the antitumoral protein Amblyomin‐X through a suicide gene therapy approach and investigates its intracellular fate after gene delivery. Although the gene is efficiently expressed, melanoma cells rapidly degrade the Amblyomin‐X protein via proteasome activity.

A Driver-to-Driver Communication Device to Improve Drivers' Interaction
Adjunct Proceedings of the 6th International Conference on Automotive User Interfaces and Interactive Vehicular Applications, 2014Driving is a social task where drivers frequently need to communicate with other road users to make their intentions clear and avoid accidents. A study was designed to investigate various communication issues raised while driving. The results of this study indicated important design recommendations for a driver-to-driver communication device.

BackgroundTo study driver suicides, all motor vehicle driver fatalities in Finland from 1987 to 1991 were analysed.MethodCases were collected from all driver fatalities (n=1419), as those that accident investigation teams considered possible suicides (n=99).

A serious health problem is developing from auto mobile collisions caused by distracted drivers. This is a result of the rapid proliferation of portable cel lular telephones and personal organisers used while driving, the development of more sophisticated entertainment systems and instrument panel con trols, the advent of navigation and television dis ...

Elderly drivers and their accidents: the Aging Driver Questionnaire
Accident Analysis & Prevention, 2000The Manchester Driver Behavior Questionnaire (DBQ) was included as part of a questionnaire survey of 1989 drivers aged 50 or over. Previous research has differentiated three main types of aberrant driver behavior: errors, lapses and violations. Each of these has different psychological origins, and different implications for road safety interventions ...

A Comparison of the Cell Phone Driver and the Drunk Driver
SSRN Electronic Journal, 2004Objective: The objective of this research was to determine the relative impairment associated with conversing on a cellular telephone while driving. Background: Epidemiological evidence suggests that the relative risk of being in a traffic accident while using a cell phone is similar to the hazard associated with driving with a blood alcohol level at ...

Older drivers constitute the most rapidly growing segment of the driving population in number of drivers licensed, miles driven, and proportion of the driving population. Yet the highway transportation system has not been designed for these drivers. This lack of fit is reflected in the accelerating rate of crashes per mile driven experienced by older ...

Organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs) are expected to become important light sources in the future. In contrast to point source inorganic LEDs, OLEDs are large area device. This in combination with different materials results in differences in performance and electrical behaviour, which on their turn result in different drivers.

Driver-Skeleton: A Dataset for Driver Action Recognition
2021 IEEE International Intelligent Transportation Systems Conference (ITSC), 2021At present, driver's dangerous driving behavior usually leads to negative outcomes of driving safety and driver action recognition based on skeleton is a current research hotspot. However, there are no large-scale public skeleton datasets for driver action recognition.
