Drug-induced acute pancreatitis

open access: yes, 2015
The most common etiology for AP are gallstones and alcohol abuse. Other causes include iatrogenic injury (i.e. post-ERCP), metabolic and autoimmune disorders, inherited disorders, neoplasia (even intraductal papillary mucinous neoplasiaIPMN), anatomical ...

Drug induced lung disease--amiodarone in focus.

open access: yesMedicinski pregled, 2014
More than 380 medications are known to cause pulmonary toxicity. Selected drugs that are important causes of pulmonary toxicity fall into the following classes: cytotoxic, cardiovascular, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, illicit drugs, miscellaneous ...

Chemoresistome mapping in individual breast cancer patients unravels diversity in dynamic transcriptional adaptation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study used longitudinal transcriptomics and gene‐pattern classification to uncover patient‐specific mechanisms of chemotherapy resistance in breast cancer. Findings reveal preexisting drug‐tolerant states in primary tumors and diverse gene rewiring patterns across patients, converging on a few dysregulated functional modules. Despite receiving the

Efeitos da amiodarona na tiróide. Aspectos actuais.

open access: yesActa Médica Portuguesa, 2004
Amiodarone is a benzofuranic-derivate iodine-rich drug widely used for the treatment of tachyarrhythmias. In 14-18% of amiodarone-treated patients, there is overt thyroid disfunction, either amiodarone-induced hyperthyroidism (AIT) or amiodarone-induced ...

Ubiquitination of transcription factors in cancer: unveiling therapeutic potential

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In cancer, dysregulated ubiquitination of transcription factors contributes to the uncontrolled growth and survival characteristics of tumors. Tumor suppressors are degraded by aberrant ubiquitination, or oncogenic transcription factors gain stability through ubiquitination, thereby promoting tumorigenesis.

Fenfluramine, a serotonin‐releasing drug, prevents seizure‐induced respiratory arrest and is anticonvulsant in the DBA/1 mouse model of SUDEP

open access: yesEpilepsia, 2019
Prevention of sudden unexpected death in epilepsy (SUDEP) is a critical goal for epilepsy therapy. The DBA/1 mouse model of SUDEP exhibits an elevated susceptibility to seizure‐induced death in response to electroconvulsive shock, hyperthermia ...

The Effects of Carvedilol and Vitamin E on Sodium Valproate-Induced Skeletal Teratogenicity in Rat Fetuses

open access: yesمجله دانشکده پزشکی اصفهان, 2017
Background: Sodium valproate, an anticonvulsant drug, has teratogenic effects on humans’ and animals’ skeletal system via causing free radicals and oxidative stress.

The M₁/M₄ preferring agonist xanomeline reverses amphetamine-, MK801- and scopolamine-induced abnormalities of latent inhibition: putative efficacy against positive, negative and cognitive symptoms in schizophrenia.

open access: yesInternational Journal of Neuropsychopharmacology, 2011
A major challenge in developing schizophrenia pharmacotherapy is treating the different symptoms of this disorder, typically divided into positive, negative and cognitive symptoms.

Detecting homologous recombination deficiency for breast cancer through integrative analysis of genomic data

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study develops a semi‐supervised classifier integrating multi‐genomic data (1404 training/5893 validation samples) to improve homologous recombination deficiency (HRD) detection in breast cancer. Our method demonstrates prognostic value and predicts chemotherapy/PARP inhibitor sensitivity in HRD+ tumours.

Comprehensive omics‐based classification system in adult patients with B‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The COMBAT classification system, developed through multi‐omics integration, stratifies adult patients with B‐cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia(B‐ALL) into three molecular subtypes with distinct surface antigen patterns, immune landscape, methylation patterns, biological pathways and prognosis.
