In Vitro Assessment of the Combined Activity of Amphotericin B and Cu2+-1,10-Phenanthroline-5,6-dione Coordination Compound Against Leishmania amazonensis Promastigotes

open access: yesTropical Medicine and Infectious Disease
Leishmaniasis is a severe parasitic disease transmitted by sandflies that affects both humans and animals, with clinical manifestations ranging from cutaneous lesions to life-threatening visceral involvement.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Olaparib synergy screen reveals Exemestane induces replication stress in triple‐negative breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology
Triple‐negative breast cancer (TNBC) remains the breast cancer subtype with the poorest prognosis. While PARP inhibitors (PARPi) effectively target BRCA1/2‐mutant TNBCs via synthetic lethality, most TNBCs are BRCA1/2 wild‐type.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

TransferBAN-Syn: a transfer learning-based algorithm for predicting synergistic drug combinations against echinococcosis

open access: yesFrontiers in Genetics
Echinococcosis is a zoonotic parasitic disease caused by the larvae of echinococcus tapeworms infesting the human body. Drug combination therapy is highly valued for the treatment of echinococcosis because of its potential to overcome resistance and ...

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Low-dose ATG combined with low-dose PTCY in preventing GVHD after haploidentical transplantation: a retrospective analysis of 90 cases

open access: yes陆军军医大学学报
Objective To retrospectively analyze the efficacy and safety of low-dose antithymocyte globulin (ATG) combined with low-dose post transplantation cyclophosphamide (PTCY) in prevention of graft versus host disease (GVHD) after haploidentical ...
